Me and my good friend will be making a road trip to Mayberry tomorrow....I will have on my NCC shirt so if we run into any Bear fans we can talk a little HS football..I am very excited to be making this trip..Mayberry may never be the same again.....LOL.....

Remember that game like it was yesterday...They thought they were unbeatable.....That 2001 Bulldog offense was UNREAL.....
Well East had a good defense that year; they had a reason to blabber. Upchurch had great defenses when he was at East. Anyone who beat or shutout a Hutchins era Starmount team had serious talent. Same for the power era of Elkin for that matter. East beat them pretty good that year too.
If you guys went small 1A that year they could have perhaps made the title game in 1AA. Heard that one was something else due to all the people there; I think that's the most East's stadium has ever held (may have changed since then.) The game itself was what it was though; that Alby team was too loaded for a lot a of levels.

We was 1aa that year. Beating Thomasville at Thomasville in the Playoffs set Us up to win State that year. It was a confidence problem that Albemarle had to get over. TA after the Thomasville game couldn'tbe stoped
