Good game, Staunton has improved dramatically on defense from last year especially up front. This was a must win for Gap after 2 straight loses. Staunton passing game may be able to put some points on Riverheads but Riverheads running game is on another level. Good luck to Staunton, like to see them playing well, too much talent to not be good. 7-3, 8-2, 9-1 are all good records going through the district in my opinion.
It was a good game. Was wondering if Staunton would be able to pull off a come from behind win again for the 3rd week. They are much improved. Heard that they were missing a few key players due to poor grades. If that is the case, good for holding them accountable and boo for the students who aren't living up to being a good teammate. I was surprised that Gap scored twice through the air, but those were pretty on a dime passes and the run game was giving an improved Staunton team fits. Gap just wanted it more.
The next two weeks will be very interesting for both teams with Gap having Wilson and then Fort and Staunton with Riverheads and Wilson. Both Gap and Staunton could finish out the last two weeks 2-0, 1-1, or even 0-2...maybe 2-0 a little less realistic for Staunton with one game being against Riverheads.
