how many "ifs" can you think about over the years that might have made the difference in any game? IFS do not count.

...he might have been the best kicker we ever had. We just didn't notice because we were losing 48-0 every week.

I think those 2 misses against Jax State has got him focused to where he could be very valuable to this team.
And Hell Yea Westerfield was the bomb

First, Chris Todd isn't a great SEC QB. He barely beat out Kodi Burns, who is basically Chris Relf. Second, Larry Smith isn't awful. He made some good plays and some good reads. The difference between Vanderbilt and Auburn is simply in the running game- the difference being, Auburn has one.

Some good ST coaching and he could have been good. And if they hadn't put Carlson ahead of him his senior year.

no, Todd is in no way a great SEC qb.... but i think someone that mediocre is all it takes. Larry Smith may not be awful... but he was awful when he needed to make a play yesterday. I spent the 4th quarter with my hands on my head saying "****, if that ball had been anywhere near the receiver that would have been a touchdown."

We won, and Mullen got his first SEC win, and also his 1st SEC road win. I feel we dominated Vandy and the score wasn't nearly what it should have been. Great win in a opponents stadium. But I think this game, or at least the 4th quarter, showed exactly how to wreak havoc on the scoreboard against us (even though Vandy didn't do it).

Does anyone else feel this way? or have I been a Miss'ippi Tate fan for too long?

of the SEC. It was a shame that our offense was so bad he didn't have a chance to kick but a couple that year. For whatever reason Croom deciding Carlson was better even though Andrews had a stronger leg and I think he set MSU's record for most PATs made in a row. I am pretty sure I could be better than Carlson after 6 months of practice. I would need 6 months due to the fact of never having kicked before.

I guess my point is more that I was pleasantly surprised that Torbush was able to make adjustments. Maybe, just maybe, we can play with a team with a passing game, as long as they don't have a running game, allowing us to pressure the QB. Part of Smith's problem was he was frequently running for his life, and that was opened up by their lack of a run game.</p>
