We have no girls from MS on our rooster, is the state of HS Girls Soccer in MS that bad? Several players from TX and FL.
No it’s not.
This seems contradictory. The state still does not have a club that has been accepted in the NL. We only have the second division RL.
No we don’t. Any club team can win “championships” playing against other mediocre to bad teams. Thats part of the scam of travel ball sports. There’s a “national champion” crowned every week in Orlando in every sport. If Mississippi girls could play someone would find them. D We recruit from top division clubs because that’s where the best players are.No it’s not. The staff refused to look at any girls that did not have a ECNL badge on their jersey. The state still does not have a club that has been accepted in the NL. We only have the second division RL.
ETA: High school soccer is that bad. But D1s don’t recruit from high school they recruit from clubs. We have some pretty damn good club teams.
That’s 2 girls Mississippi has produced in 6 years. Loposer is a good solid player. The other one who knows? But most top Mississippi players go g5 & many struggle to get playing time there. One of the best seniors in the state this year is going to play at Auburn. She committed before Armstrong took the job.
Also why did Loposer go to Iowa? She started in the back with just 3 backs.
Yeah I’m not really arguing for the state. Mostly just noting it. It’s really wierd we have so many Boys NL teams and no girls. The boys aren’t going anywhere but Juco for the most part too. That’s 2 girls Mississippi has produced in 6 years. Loposer is a good solid player. The other one who knows? That is interesting. It’s not like Mississippi boys soccer is any better then girls soccer.Yeah I’m not really arguing for the state. Mostly just noting it. It’s really wierd we have so many Boys NL teams and no girls. The boys aren’t going anywhere but Juco for the most part too.
The boys go to Juco, by and large, because of the scholarship limits and academic makeup of men’s soccer schools, especially in the south. Men’s soccer has had a 9.9 scholarship limit in D1 and 9 in D2, while the roster size is 25-30 players. While there are public colleges in the South that have men’s soccer, from what I’m looking at, they’re by and large private universities, which means they’re going to come with a big price tag if you’re not getting the whole thing paid off. Juco’s can give out 18 full ride scholarships for a men’s soccer roster and that pretty much fulfills an entire team.Yeah I’m not really arguing for the state. Mostly just noting it. Soccer is far down the list of priorities at most high schools. The coaching oftentimes is just a warm body.So if clubs are recruited more than HSs, I'm assuming the parents of those girls paid much more in travel ball costs over the years than whatever athletic scholarships they are getting.
I didn't realize that about soccer (club teams are better than HS teams).
So how many girls from Mississippi are playing at other D1 schools that are worth a damn?No it’s not. The staff refused to look at any girls that did not have a ECNL badge on their jersey. The state still does not have a club that has been accepted in the NL. We only have the second division RL.

Interesting. Travel soccer is as big as travel baseball….in Jackson. I fear that being a rural state yet again hurts us here in a suburban sport. No it’s not. Mary Frances Symmes from Gulfport is at Nc State. LL Taylor and Addie Siders at USM, Emma Reeves at UT Chatt, AK Harrell central Arky, and several more at other G5s.So how many girls from Mississippi are playing at other D1 schools that are worth a damn?
name 2.
or are they all just bad at evaluating Mississippi talent?
Sounds like we need to go against the grain there too. Seems to be a theme for MSU sans baseball, which is prevalent in the state.Mary Frances Symmes from Gulfport is at Nc State. LL Taylor and Addie Siders at USM, Emma Reeves at UT Chatt, AK Harrell central Arky, and several more at other G5s.
the problem is not necessarily the talent it’s college coaches go to events where they can get the most bang for their buck. Which so happens to be at these national league events. And if you go to a colleges ID camp you are grouped in together with either the NL players or non NL players. Guess who gets the attention?
now as to why MS does not have a girls NL team as opposed to boys. The girls is the older and more established league to get into that you have to prove your worth at the regional level. The boys side is fairly new and still adding new conferences.
Looks like you can pay for her to give you a shoutout...We signed a girl from Olive Branch last November: Krossley Jones. She is not on the current roster, and I do not know what happened for her not to be on the team.

So you named one at a program that might be close to our current program? Might!Mary Frances Symmes from Gulfport is at Nc State. LL Taylor and Addie Siders at USM, Emma Reeves at UT Chatt, AK Harrell central Arky, and several more at other G5s.
So 1 player who doesn’t play much for NC State & few G5 players. You’re not convincing me that we need to recruit Mississippi more.Mary Frances Symmes from Gulfport is at Nc State. LL Taylor and Addie Siders at USM, Emma Reeves at UT Chatt, AK Harrell central Arky, and several more at other G5s.

Kate Smith graduated from Gulfport High 3 years ago and is playing at Ole Miss. Abbie Badurak graduated from Gulfport High 2 years ago and is playing for USM. I’d bet some OS and NWR girls are playing D1 ball somewhere. So you named one at a program that might be close to our current program? Might!
So you're up to 1 starter (Loposer) and 2 bench players at P5 schools. Long way from proving your point.Kate Smith graduated from Gulfport High 3 years ago and is playing at Ole Miss. Abbie Badurak graduated from Gulfport High 2 years ago and is playing for USM. I’d bet some OS and NWR girls are playing D1 ball somewhere.

Volleyball ... about the same. We have one player from Mississippi. Ole Miss has zero.
Some clubs (not in MS that I know of) prohibit players from playing high school ball. Club only.So if clubs are recruited more than HSs, I'm assuming the parents of those girls paid much more in travel ball costs over the years than whatever athletic scholarships they are getting.

Interesting! The travel sports culture never ceases to amaze. Some clubs (not in MS that I know of) prohibit players from playing high school ball. Club only.
Unfortunately, she’s not on the roster.Butt, we do have Ava Nucci, so we are already doing well in some categories.View attachment 879502View attachment 879505View attachment 879522

That's what I get for showing interest in her assets as a soccer player. Oh well, she officially signed two months ago.Unfortunately, she’s not on the roster.
We following the Southern Miss recruiting strategy?Butt, we do have Ava Nucci, so we are already doing well in some categories.View attachment 879502View attachment 879505View attachment 879522
