The Big 3 have done pretty well regardless of the decision.
4 straight finals and winning 2 of them.
Not to mention that in this Finals, it was more like the Big 1+2, not the Big 3.
In this series, Lebron was 52-91 from the field (57%). He was 14-27 from 3 (52%). He averaged 28.2 ppg for the series.
I guess you could argue that he should've taken more shots and scored more, but I really don't think ANY superstar of ANY generation would've taken that Heat team and beaten that Spurs team.
They didn't get beat because of Lebron. They got beat because the Spurs are an excellent, well-coached team. I'm honestly still amazed the Heat were able to beat the Spurs last year in the Finals. The Spurs are a better team plain and simple. No individual in the NBA can beat a team by himself. It's just not possible.
I say that as an unabashed Jordan fan. I just don't think it's fair to point to NBA Finals record without considering the supporting casts and their performance. Also, just looking at the record in the Finals ignores all those other years when teams fell short of the Finals. Isn't it better to reach the Finals and lose than to lose in an earlier round?
