8-2 Butler takes on 6-4 Hickory Ridge. Notice earlier in the season HR lost to Catholic in OT 35-34 in OT. Any thoughts with this game. I’m thinking Butler takes the win.
Great assessment of Butler. When they are on they can beat anyone when they are off they can lose to a Hickory Ridge. Although the defense did get pushed around in the run game, they gave up 19 points to Catholic and 13 of the 27 was legitimately scored on the defense against Independence. 14 points were because of special teams. Overall the defense is solid but not as good as the last couple of years. I think if the offense starts fast and puts up points, it does help the defense by making the opposition one dimensional.Butler is a dangerous team but a mixed bag. Independence and Catholic literally bullied their defense with the run game. Butler ultimately beat Catholic and coudl very easily have beaten Independence. However, Butler has playmakers and quick strike capability on offense. When they are on, they can play with anyone in 4A. If they have an off night, there is a long list of teams that can beat them. Hickory Ridge has a lot of talent too but has proven even more inconsistent than Butler. If both teams are on or off, this will be a close game. If only one team is on, the other could get squashed pretty hard. Hoping both teams are "on" this Friday.
Ever since #44 has been out Butler has struggled to stop the run. Heard he’s done for the year. I also don’t want to discredit Indy, but 5 players were hurt in the game against Indy which ultimately led to the loss. I think if they’re able to get healthy they will be very dangerous in the playoffs this year.Great assessment of Butler. Both are ridiculously tough draws so it doesn’t matter.I am sure most Mooresville wants Bulter bc Its hard to beat a team twice and HR would be the tough match up
Butler hasn’t played Mooresville at all. We only got to play Hickory Ridge because we were in the same conference. Believe it or not we played Hickory Ridge more than Hough. Both are ridiculously tough draws so it doesn’t matter.
me personally, I’d rather play Butler but only because it would be the first time we’ve ever played. I love when we play new teams.
