6-2 Butler will take on 4-4 Independence. Will Independence have enough juice to keep up with Butler. Can we possibly see a surprise close game.

2009 was the last time Independence was really Independence with Knotts coaching. Butler won their first championship, Mallard Creek became a factor then Independence fell a couple years after. Times have changed
Butler had remained pretty good, Independence has fallen off. Some of that can be blamed on Rocky River opening up and instability in coaching.
I think Butler wins 35-14, pulling away late in the game but it will be competitive.

If I counted correctly Butler is 15-1 vs Indy since the start of 2009 (including playoff matchups). Not much competition between the 2. Maybe McFadden can help close that gap in years to come. He has a solid staff but watching the jv game yesterday Butler has some future STARS people will know about soon.

Butler has to clean up the penalties and special team mistakes. Butler has the potential to reach the west finals or lose in the first round.
I was really impressed with Independence. This is the best I have seen them in five years. I really like the QB, he was good at picking apart the zone defense Butler ran. If the receivers didn’t have as many drops this game could have been tighter.

42-13 Butler.
It's been a while since indy won this game, but it is still a big rivalry game between old friends and now old coaches. Emotions definitely caused some of the penalties and mistakes on both sides. Hopefully, they are more poised in the playoffs! That said loved seeing the two teams and coaches hug it out at the end.
