Donovan is a great guy and a really good coach but Coach K and Tom Izzo are way ahead of him in my mind. Now ask me in 10-15 years if he gets another couple of titles and I might say yes.
They are one win away from the Final Four.....and this year it was not expected...Have to give it to the guy...they win when it matters!!
Still not convinced that he is among the elite.....but he getting close.
He got lucky that Marquette was missing so many shots last night. His team almost blew it a couple of times last night, missing shots early in the shot clock with that lead they had. He is a damn good coach though. Never seemed worried last night. It helps when you can bomb 3's, give it inside to Young, and make free throws.. I think they make the Final 4..
The question I have with Donovan is whether he can do it again. Both those titles were won with the same team ofawesomeyoung players that came back for a second season. That is rare nowadays. I have to see him rebuild a national title team before I put him ahead of Coach K or Izzo who have won multiple titles with vastly different teams.
Like someone said, he's in the top-10 (maybe top 5), but Coach K is still on top.<div>
