Anthony Dixon now stands at 3,640 All-Purpose Yards (3,299 rush; 341 rec). With another 111 yards he will pass Norwood for 3rd on the All-Purpose list. Next would be Tony James at 3,973.

Finally Walter Packer is 530 yards away at 4,169.

After 7 games, Dixon is averaging 118.5 ALL-Purpose ypg.
With 5 games remaining (Yes I'm aware who those opponents are..) Can he catch the all-time leader in MSU History?

We are going to have to lean on Dixon some, and I think he will have a chance. I would definately buy if used him in the passing game more. I just can't see it happening unless he has a JJ Johnson in 1998 like performance against Bama, and a Jerious Norwood 2005 like performance against Ole Miss.

I think he may have to have at least a monster 150 yard game and 100 yard games against everyone else to do it.

Now...it's Croom's fault. If it weren't for Croom...he would have already broken it. Or...if he hadn't gotten that DUI he would have an extra 150 against Jstate.</p>

I can see him going over 125 against Ark, Kentucky which would leave 280 for him to mop up in the 3 other games. I can see that happening. He will probably go over 100 against Ole Miss also. Ask Ingram how good Ole Miss's run defense is.

I think Anthony will really try his hardest in the coming weeks and break the record.

Won't get enough chances. If we get behind against Florida & Bama, he may not even get 20 carries. Same goes for Ark & UM.

I think his season now depends a lot on how our defense performs from here out. If we're behind more than 2 scores in the 2nd half against these teams, we won't have much choice but to go to the air. I think he ends the season with around 1200 rushing yards.

edit: ok, I can't read... got the #s mixed up. If he gets 1200 yrds rushing he should break the record with just a few recieving yards. Can I change to buy??

I think he's been improving and I think he'll be leaned on more as the games are more important. We all know he could've racked up some other yds here and there in the past games. I think he'll get more opportunities than he has had as we go forward
