I say "buy". If we're gonna play one Division 1-AA game a year, let's do it with Mississippi schools. The crowds would be larger than playing, say, Maine or Stephen F. Austin. Plus, we'd get to watch some great marching Bands.

Come to think of it, if the NCAA would allow it, I wouldn't mind State playing Delta St., Mississippi College, and Millsaps. State needs to get revenge for Millsaps tying Miss. A&M 0-0 in 1929 and losing 19-13 in 1930, and losing 7-6 in 1934, and get some payback on MC for them beating us 13-6 in 1916, 13-12 in 1930, and 6-2 in 1931.</p>

I'd like to see something like 2 games vs. JSU and 1 each vs. Alcorn & MVSU per decade.

He once said that, if college coaches didn't like making such huge money, they'd all be Division III coaches. He's got about 120 players out there at practice in the evenings. They're undefeated and not even really challenged yet. They're averaging 45 points a game, while holding teams to 11 points per game (and that average is only that high because Centre hung 26 on them last week).

Hell ........... why don't we just form a "Mississippi" conference composed of
Ole Miss Miss State JSU USM Alcorn Valley Delta State and Millsaps

Of course, MSU and OM sure would miss that SEC $$$$$. But, travel costs sure would be lower.

At least that's the way it was explained to me a couple of months ago. Play JSU, see how it goes, then schedule Alcorn, JSU and Mississippi Valley on a rotating basis.

I think it's a great idea. It keeps the money in the state, makes a 7th home game easier, and is further proof that Mississippi State is the "Peoples University".
