I say sell. He was no better than an average coach that was quirky and kept using retread assistants that weren't getting the job done. Plus if not for a late save from the alumni last year, his recruitingwas really slipping.

He alsodidn't focus very heavily on MS recruiting which is where we're trying to make our living (short of SP and MC). Yeah, they'd also go after the big fish, but most times Nutt would just assume takea 3-star from FL/TN versus a 3-star from MS. As seen by the fact there were very few kids we went head to head this year on.

New hire will always bring some new energy and new enthusiasm and if they get a guy with championship pedigree (Smart/Malzahn) it might could hurt us a little short term in recruiting.

I'm not seeing a lot of positives unless they make a Croom like hire.

That's always the thing with a coaching change. It's a two part process. If you get the first part right (the firing), but follow it with a poor hire, it doesn't matter.

I have faith in the process we're using and the information they'll have at their disposal to make the call, but I'll be a little skeptical until I see the name in the papers.

As far as this year's recruiting, it should help you, though when you fired Croom, it didn't seem to help us, since you still cleaned up in the state that year.

Given the way our class is currently, I would expect you'll clean up in state with this recruiting class with the exception of a handful of players we'll get because they're from Ole Miss towns or families and the handful of players that decide to go out of state.
