That's the only thing that makes me feel better. I feel like you aren't a whole lot different than Auburn. You can hit fairly well, but you have little to no pitching. We should be able to put up enough runs to win without Bittle.

State's best hope at going one out of three is to hope that Routt is on, pitches nine innings and it doesn't rain. And that State can score more than one run off of Buckvich.
Even if Bittle's bicep blows up, we don't have the bullpen to stop Ole Miss, or hell Samford for that matter. I honestly don't know why Bianco is even taking a chance with Bittle, if there is any question at all that he may not be 100%, especially in light of our situation.

A combination of Routt pitching well combined with some disarray amongst our starters (Bukvich in place of Irwin is a change in the rotation, Bittle also an unknown...could have 2 new weekend starters this weekend) and us being a team with little power leads me to believe a game with lots of hits but lots of men LOB could definitely happen.
Looking at MSU's hitting stats in conference, this bunch is doing a pretty good job scoring runs. Really good job. It's very much conceivable that a "that's baseball" situation could happen with Routt on the hill and there's always the RAT possibility in another game. Remember what Bowen did to us a year or two ago? Complete game 3-hit shutout wasn't it?</p>

Season isn't over yet. I'd wait until we've had our 2nd regional or Super regional loss to say we've choked again.
