Fedora energized the USM alumni base initially. There was a lot of concern (including by me) about the Eagles' poor defense, but USM has seemed to have done better now. It's also easier for USM to win games because of the relative weakness of its conference schedule.
Wilson can do similarly well with MSU with regard to energizing the base. Winning games will be more difficult because the SEC is tougher than C-USA. Wilson will have more time than Fedora has had as far as the patience of fans is concerned.
