As to prevent Auburn from reaching SEC title game after today's news break? Also, does it start this weekend in the Tide vs Tigers Tussle in Baton Rouge? Who do they pick as the golden child from the West now? Do they see how the first half of that game goes, call Mike at halftime and proceed with the plan or is it Tide or Die for the rest of the season, since they have the easiest path and play AU?

The better Auburn and Cam do, the bigger the story. Bigger story = more ratings, more $, yada yada yada. The $ won't be any different this year, but longer term it can only contribute to the legend that is the $EC.

Read that Wetzel article linked in another post here. He pretty well sums it up.

does the SEC want their potential BCS National Title taken away or let a legitimate team play for it?

Edit: Bama is only potential 1 loss team to reach Title Game. Makes sense to put them it at all costs instead of Auburn having to give it back.

They want the money generated by having 2 SEC teams playing in a BCS game. That's the bottom line with them.

a huge black eye for your conference after you've sold it as the premiere football league in all of college football?

AFTER such strong and specific allegations surfaced and were found to be true. If Bama or someone similar wins it, then the SEC can say "well we took care of the problem and the better program won."

the league's reputation as the premier college football league would not change.
