Maybe we are talking about semantic distinction, but it seems like your argument here contradicts your original statement. You asked if the "BOC deal was 99% done" before we fired him, and I said no. Having interest from "multiple strong candidates" before we fired Lemonis is a far cry from having "BOC deal 99% done" before we fired Lemonis. They are not the same thing.
Fair point. The 99% comment seems to be throwing multiple people off.

I’ll rephrase it this way. Do you think the powers that be assessed the situation, and deemed the possibility of BOC being the next coach was far more likely than not….and made said assessment before the firing of Lemonis was officially announced? Key point is “officially announced” is not the necessarily the same time as when the decision was made.

Did you even see the disaster that was last fall? That was easily one of the worst MSU teams I've ever seen. And don't get me started on Lebby's decision to hire and then retain the defensive coordinator. He's just looked in way over his head from the beginning to me.
I did. Although, I fixed my back deck during most of it though because our talent level was unbearable to watch, which is not on Lebby or Selmon. That's why I said "There is nothing that tells me that the Lebby hire was a mistake. Yet".... not about a coordinator. Most AD's hire a coach and give them the ability to choose their staff. I doubt Lebby (who again, was the best coordinator that would take our job) would have taken any job if the AD made it clear that the AD would be hiring his staff and not the Head Coach himself. So tell me again how Selmon is to blame for that? Let's not crucify Selmon over the bad coordinator hire, especially when we don't even know who would even take the job at that time.

The ONLY major bad move the guy has made was keeping Lemonis too long, and even that was a huge argument among the fanbase two years after the natty coming off making a regional that year.

Yes, I'll admit it. I had nothing but bad things to say about Selmon for a few years, now I'm starting to come around. Baseball does that to me.
