Also if we can sign some big linemen, that'll make it a good class as well. I want all those talented receivers, we'd have a place for them, they'd be very productive for us. We didn't get them so let's work with what we have.

but has his finger in his ear during games and season prep. I stick w/Dan.

I wish our fans could remember these are 18 y/o's who are playing adults (like us, supposedly) like Eddie Van Valen's guitar

Still 3-4 weeks to signing day. The recruits these days love the attention and love to play the game. I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of these guys end up at State when it's all said and done. And if not, who gives a ****? Mullen has shown he can recruit (Prescott is a good example of that, also he managed to get some guy named Tebow to Florida) and he certainly can coach the **** out of some football, winning a NYD bowl game with a bunch of Croomsters.

But wasn't the now infamous Arizona Western class fairly highly thought of at the time?

It seems like our best classes are the ones that we all think that they suck.

and this man could barely get out of Lincoln much less his golfcart.

Even if its is the worst class since JD Western Ariz connection, what do we do? Boo Mullen, talk about firing him. Surely we're not so jaded by 2 EB's and 1 Gator Bowl that we lose all perspective.

would be to keep Dan since we know that he can coach and get a better recruiting coordinator.

Nash was recruited fairly hard, but no one wanted Synder or Oyefesobi. Also, all it took was a quick look at Arizona Western stats to realize they didn't have 3 SECprospects on their D-line.

This class isn't as bad as Croom's first class......yet.

bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Seriously, if we end up losing Brassell and Singleton then that is nothing; I promise you for alot of reasons it is nothing and we may be better off without them. Nutt is setting himself up again, trying to sign the hell out of anybody he thinks can help and not paying attention to what he is doing. Remember, players have to get in school to help you and you need to sign players that you need. Nutt seems to be extremely obsessed with PR (billboards)as it pertains to Mullen right now and that could get him in trouble. Fire away, but I have confidence in the hunchback; we lost our two best recruiters and we are taking a hit right now, things will get better day by day.

Nutt could end up signing four qb's in this class with varying styles of play, what does that tell you. They my friend are in deep **** and we need to quit worrying about the Rebs.

They were GPAAs (Gene's Page All-Americans), but I don't think any of them were highly reruited players at all. I do remember being concerned that we'd signed 3 players off of a defense that gave up close to 40 points per game.

Im not saying we need 10 wide receivers, but we do need some. We also need cornerbacks pretty badly in the event Brassel plays defensive back.

Considering we may be losing Stanley and only have two QB's on the roster right now, Im glad we are bringing ina Juco QB and a QB that has 4 to play 3 in Brunetti (assuming we get him). Its my understanding that Mikhail Miller won't enroll until January which works for me.

We may be in deep ****, but we need help at WR and QB.

I'm concerned that as you say Nutt starts signing everybody. Why is he able to do this? When Mississippi has a legit 5* dual threat QB is Nutt going to be able to get him if he REALLY wants him. Again I agree that this loss and possible loss aren't the end of the world but if our goal is to lock down the state I don't see how this is a good omen.

Lance Anderson- Stanford

Now that Harbaugh is gone to the Niners, I think that we should give this guy a call. His wife's family is from and stilllives in Hattiesburg. I have know his in-laws for years. I even met him a few times when they would come to visit family. He is a heck of a recruiter and a great person. He already recruits the southeast. He has recruited players like Nick Griffin and Jermaine Whitehead. I think it is worth a shot.

apparently you weren't around for Croom's first 2 classes. We had scatbacks recruited as starting receivers. Johnathan Lowe.

Tebow almost didn't come to Florida because of Mullen.. He did not like him during recruiting but Urban managed to pull him in. The relationship changed after Tebow got on campus and Mullen began coaching him but just sayin...

That class was something like 7th in the nation when it was signed and turned into crap. I'm convinced that if you give Mullen and Balis a top 35 class they can work them into shape. A few years of that will give us the top 10 classes. This is what Crooms was talking about with "the right way" even though he had no idea about what he was talking.

I sent an email to members of the coaching staff, including Coach Wilson. I doubt anything comes of it, but it certainly can't hurt. Coach Anderson would be a huge pick-up especially with his familiarity with several of our current and former recruits.

but it's nowhere near the worst class in the last decade. Take a quick look at any of Croom's classes and you'll see what I mean. While he was somehow able to pull in the a couple 4* guys every year, his signees were predominantly 2* diamonds in the rough every year. I almost think he didn't even try some years because he truly believed that we didn't have the resources or ability to out-recruit anyone in the SEC.

Even if we only sign the list of guys that are currently committed, it's a good class and nowhere near as bad as some of the ones from 2004-2008. However, the problem really lies in the fact that a "good" class won't get you very far in the SEC. With our season this past year and the Gator Bowl dominance, I was really hoping that we were going to take a step forward in recruiting, but it seems that we're somehow getting outplayed for some of the bigger names. We'll see how this all shakes out, but I don't think it's time to jump overboard yet.

He is the one I care most about. I still think he comes to State, but until I see that signature I am going to worry.
