...I know before I click on them it is going to follow the basic formula:

Buy/Sell-Something overly optimistic is going to happen. Buy.

For the record, sell. More like 15 or so. He started 9 games last year and threw for 9 TD's. I think he'll improve, but not by that much. Hope I'm wrong.

When we get inside the twenty we are going to beat people on the ground rushing not passing.

1.67 TD's per game. (Thats leass than 2 per game downtown.) What IS overly optimistic is thinking you will eventually grow a brain.

...since no MSU quarterback has ever thrown for more than 16 in a season.

In fact, only five have thrown more than eleven in a season:

1. Derrick Taite (1995) - 16 TD
2. Don Smith (1985) - 15 TD
3. Derrick Taite (1994) - 14 TD
3. Kevin Fant (2003) - 14 TD (thank YOU, Odell Bradley!)
5. Tony Shell (1988) - 13 TD
6. Four tied with 11 (Tommy Pharr, 1969; Dave Marler, 1978; Todd Jordan, 1993; Wayne Madkin, 1998)
10. Four tied with 10 (Fant, 2002; Madkin, 1999; Shell, 1990; Smith, 1986)

So given your near-complete lack of research, no I don't think Wes Carroll will have 20 TDs.

looking at our 2006 media guide

the most in one year for State was Madkin with 16. Then Don Smith with 15, Taite and Fant with 14, Shell with 13, and bunch with 11.

with our ****** offense there is no way hell we are going to throw 20.

wasn't overly optimistic. I'm going to go with a sell on Carroll throwing 20 TDs, but I am a little more optimistic than most. I think he'll throw for 17 or 18, assuming he's healthy all year.

...and seeing how CB9 is the only person to buy, we have another example.

For the record, I just don't think he'll be healthy all year, and if he was, it'd be close.

This is the same QB that got pulled in his last two games in favor of Henig.

Also, Dixon is a horse and Croom is going to give him the ball a ton.

Also MSU QB's have thrown for 42 TD's in Croom's four years as head coach.

You say this because you think he will get hurt?

Or he will get pulled in favor of Lee. Which ever comes first.

So you're one of those dumbasses that thinks our starting QB that has a year of experience playing in the SEC under his belt, did damn good last year as a true freshman just off of shoulder surgery, and led us to 8 wins including a bowl victory, will be replaced by a 5 foot 10 guy that was in Juco last season?

of those dumbasses that has close contact to a lot of people here at Mississippi State and gets to occasionally watch practice. Croom had already said he will use both this year and both will have a role in the offense.

Well next time you are watching practice open your eyes. Lee will not replace Carroll as the starter. It's incredibly absurd to even think that might happen. Just because you talked to some third string receiver that likes to toss the ball around with Lee while the real team practices, doesn't mean that he will replace our starting QB. Lee will get some plays as a change of pace type thing, but he won't be the starter unless Carroll gets hurt.

What is the deal with Relf? Obviously, the dude is big enough to play the position. What gives.

As for Carroll, has he figured out how to check down to other receivers this summer?

I knew we've never been a QB factory or anything, but I had no idea it was that bad.

1. The game was a lot different even 10 years ago. There's more passing than ever in today's game. Even we threw the ball well over 40% of the time last year and were the most run-oriented team in the conference. With an experienced QB, I think we'll be a little less run-oriented this year.

2. There are 12 games in every season now and statistics from bowl games also count now. So Carroll gets a 9% or an 18% advantage over all those players from the past just because of that. He could theoretically throw 18 TDs and break the record by two and not really have a better year than Taite did.

you knew buddy. Absurd huh? I'll hold you to that don't worry.

Edited to add - You must have thought it was absurd last year when Carroll got pulled more that once for Money Mike to come back in. Idiot.....

I am fully prepared to hear all the comments about how I'm drinking the kool-aid, but I'll buy. I can't let my boy CB9 go out like that!

we only scored 30 TD's last year on offense, including back-ups. 30, thats it. And we wont be any better offensively this season. Carroll with throw no more than 12 this season

No way in Hell Carroll passes for 20 TDs. Go look at the stats VH pulled. Do you realize just how ****** our QB history is? The only time we've ever had QBs comparable to other SEC starters had ****** teams around them. We are MState. Good QB + Good team simultaneously = NEVER HAPPENING.
