We would've gone bowling this year had Mike Brown and his boys decided to leave thier guns at the house.

I'm selling...the offense sucked last year with Brown, and we didn't really miss Jamon Hughes. I just ask because I saw a post on Gene's Page where a guy was blaming our bad season on handgungate.

the players we lost because they thought it was more important to hizzle da zhizzle da stupidizzle wif da handgun shooting a drug dealer driving a Budweiser car, than it was to be team leaders and get ready for the upcoming season. Also you can blame Derek Pegues for deciding that skipping class is more important than being a team leader. All those things probably cost us at least 3 games this past season.

We were really close and that little bit of disruption probably and the loss a little talent was probably just enough. With the ridiculously easy schedule we played this year and only needing to go 6-6, we should have been able to make a bowl if half of our team went on a multi-state shooting rampage.

My worse fear was that we would keep stringing along 6-win seasons in the 12-game schedule and 34 bowl era thus ensuring a decade of Croom. I am glad the season transpired the way it did.

Considering that we were only a few points from winning 2 more games...probably... Buy...but glad we've moved on.

Mike Brown and his cronnies weren't going to be the ones kicking, punting, calling offensive plays, and managing the game/clock.

Mike Brown was an immediate difference maker when he started playing LT the prior season. I think we could have pulled out 2 close games with him playing and AJ defending the post pattern that caused us so much grief. Having said that, I'm glad we have moved on too.</p>

...this past season was tanked off of not having a kicker worth a ****, not because of the absence of Brown & crew.

With a decent FG/XP kicker, the 2008 squad would have gone 6-6 & played in probably the Indy Bowl.

we lost two games by 3 points. Mike Brown and company could have kept it close all they wanted, but Carlson still would have missed those kicks.

...we beat Kentucky and Auburn with Brown, and maybe La. Tech. Anyway, we'd have gotten to a very underwhelming 6. That said, I think it worked out for the best.

with our schedule with Aub, UK, and La Tech as the most likely victories.
