In his first and SECOND year as HC, Ray only has eight available scholarship players that can play.
Obama still blames Bush; many on here still blame Stans for Ray's recruiting issues.
I would just like to read one article about how 'relentless' the MSU coaching staff is out recruiting and competing for at least one decent player.
I guess you really need this spelled out for you...
- Sign a full roster.
- The NCAA has a hard-on for your program and penalizes Ndoye a year. Now we're down to 12.
- Daniels fails to pass ONE CLASS that would have gotten him eligible on time. Now we're down to 11.
- Jalen Steele is cleared medically, but is a selfish player and wants to redshirt and come back next year -- when we've already signed away his spot(yes, we were at 13 scholarships signed prior to Applewhite's transfer). Now we're down to 10.
- Wendell Lewis smokes his way out of basketball his senior year like ?how many? of his previous teammates. Now we're down to 9.
- A Ray signee, Applewhite, decides he's a selfish player too and transfers midseason. He doesn't deserve another opportunity for pulling that ****. Now we're down to 8.
Ray is at least partially to blame for Applewhite transferring and Daniels not getting in. Although NEITHER of those would have made a damn to us IF Steele and Lewis are here, healthy, and playing. You add those 2 pieces back, one being a shooter we sorely lacked this year and the other being someone with size to defend and spell Ware that we SORELY lacked this year, this team is a borderline NIT team. I blame 0% of those two guys leaving on Rick Ray whatsoever. And those were pieces he "expected" to have in the fall.
Year 3, the cupboard is full -- and we'll begin to know one way or another.
