BYU would have been a legit Top 15 to 20 squad next year in preseason. I don't think anyone is saying get the entire team, but getting 3 to 5 guys and adding 7 to 8 guys that are better than they had would be a great start in year one. Then after the nation sees Mark's system and how well he relates to players, media and fans he will have an opportunity to pursue even better players that he can build relationships with. I would think MOST people understand this is a process that is just getting started and each year he can recruit as the UK coach and add onto establishing HIS brand to the nation will provide what's needed to get to where we want to be. I want to win next year at a high level as much as ANY fan, but we hired POPE not Moses and for the first year let's trust the process and then evaluate.

Experienced, talented, tough, aged and knows the system as a 1. Who would not want him in this system?
See the earlier post. We're not on his list. Hopefully that means Pope already knows he has better options in the works.
I wouldn’t mind taking the top 4-5 guys from BYU’s team. Minus Perry we have an empty roster since I assume all others follow Cal until proven otherwise.
I also assume Reed to be gone until he says otherwise.
BYU’s best 4-5 guys could be leaders/teachers of Pope’s system, some could earn starting roles (I don’t imagine many if things go our way), but more importantly they would provide experienced depth.
People seem to have a hard time realizing you’re not going to start someone like John Wall with Brandon Knight coming off the bench for him. That’s just not how this is going to play out. The guys on the bench, more often than not, are going to be a notch below your starters unless you’re Cal.
Maybe Hall ain’t it but the way I see it we have 12 spots to fill and they all aren’t going to be all Americans
