Scotus should get the 4 seed over Chadron due to having two division one wins over Aquinas and Boone correct?

Other than the Raymond Central game, everything fell into place pretty well last night. Usually week 9 brings a high level of chaos that makes the bracket move around. C1 is looking like a really interesting bracket! Lots of intriguing matchups!

I have a feeling there will be some road games for higher seeds in the 2nd round.

Quick perspective on some teams I have seen this year.

Ashland-Greenwood- Have great balance in terms of run-pass ratio, but also ball carriers and receptions. They get the ball to 8 different kids or so religiously. Defense is STOUT. They have the best coach in C1 and it isn't close.

Adams Central- Always in a game when you have a kid like Hyatt Collins. They aren't the same AC as they were last year, but they are dangerous

Pierce- Obviously an incredible offense with Brahmer and Scholting. Their defense is definitely vulnerable.

Broken Bow- Plays salty defense and has about 27 Wells kids on the roster. Strong power run game. I wouldn't be shocked if they beat Pierce. Move the chains and keep Pierce's offense of the field.

Chadron- Nobody will give them a chance because they are a western school. If people haven't learned by now that teams out west can play they are a lost cause. Mitchell gave Wahoo all they wanted last year in the first round. Scottsbluff is consistently a top 5 class B team. Battle Creek is the 12 seed and most people think they are a lock to win this game. They arent.

Battle Creek- Probably the most battle tested team in the playoffs (no pun intended). I haven't seen them play so I can't comment on them outside of what their schedule says. Their schedule says they have seen great teams.

Scotus- Rivalry games are tough, especially when it is do or die for the underdog. Not a great performance vs Lakeview, but lets not forget they beat Boone the week prior. They could absolutely make a run to Lincoln

Fort Calhoun- Dierks kid is the real deal. They have a good run game and their defense as progressed nicely. Underdogs in round 1, no doubt...but they can make a game out of it with their run game,

Milford- They have 2 hammers on the defensive line, which bodes well for them against Lakeview's outside zone. Very athletic QB and a coach that has been around the block. Milford-Lakeview is my favorite matchup in round 1.

Lakeview- How quick can they move on from the big win last night. Knowing Frenzen, i would say quick. Milford is old school. This game will be a ton of fun.

Boone- Haven't seen them

Wayne- If Battle Creek isn't the most battle tested team in the playoffs then Wayne is. I wouldn't be surprised at all of Wayne wins this game. Not saying they are better than Boone, but this is as tough of a 14 seed that you will ever see.

Auburn- Only two losses are by 1 point each. Dixon kid is really tough. They don't have a lot of size on their roster.

Wahoo- Not the usual Wahoo. Pokorny is a very good player and has flown under the radar because Ludvig was the headliner coming into the year. Lavaley is a difference maker on the DL. I think Wahoo wins this game.

Boys Town- If you haven't seen Jacey Ballard play, you need to. I thought I read he had 30 tackles in a game this year. Sideline to sideline type kid at LB, which will be needed against KCHS spread run.

Kearney Catholic- Coach Harvey is the best offensive mind in C1. Their run game is really good and defense has been great down the stretch. They have a favorable draw to semis.

A-G with the "best coach in C1 and it isn't close" ;) Wow, quite the statement.

I have no clue how to look this up, so looking for help. Since the playoffs went back to 16 teams, have there been many times that 4 teams from a district make the playoffs like what happened for the
C1-5 district this year? It just seems like an anomaly, maybe I'm wrong.

I'm not sure how to look that specific information up, but it doesn't happen often. Battle Creek-Wayne-Pierce-Boone Central....not unlikely that 3 of the 4 advance. Could be 4 of 4 but 2 play each other. Meanwhile you have districts like the one Adams Central plays in. They sent 1 team and they are 16 seed...probably wouldnt have been in if they were in any other district.

2017 District C1-5 was Madison, Norfolk Catholic, O'Neill, Pierce, Wayne, and West Point-Beemer. That season Norfolk Catholic, Pierce, Wayne, and West Point-Beemer all qualified for C1 playoffs.

Pretty crazy that the same district has done it twice in the last 5 years.
