He has had one recruiting class, and he has landed Russell, a highly sought after QB, and it appears as if we are in the lead for another really good QB. Under Croom, we had Ryan Perriloux as a recruit who really wasn't all that interested.
One thing about MSU- it won't be that hard to become the best QB we've ever had. It's not like you're going to be compared to immortals like Peyton Manning here.
Plus, we've never had a coach that has a history for developing QB's like Mullen. He has done well with them ever since he was at Bowling Green. I don't know how highly recruited Alex Smith was out of HS, and Tebow has regressed since Mullen left for MSU. If we get decent QB prospects, I think Mullen can at least develop them even if they aren't blue chips. That's the key- development. What could a guy like Mullen have done with an Omarr Conner?
