Public bashing of officials is never a good thing, but apparently Newton thought it was important enough not to just leave it on the field.

Newton sounds like a little rat. Shut your mouth and play. I don't hear any refs bringing up how Cam allegedly took money to play one year at Auburn.

This does not make much sense on either end -
Have a hunch that it is not quite exactly what either one said / heard

Might be that Hochuli said something a just bit more like - 'The difference is your running'
( the contraction of You are - 'You're' vs the possessive - 'your')
- with maybe some other words - -

- but to Newton it essentially may have come across sounding like - 'hey ... when a big young healthy hunk like you takes off and runs the way you do , we are going to see it differently from when those older more frail QBs do a little scamper'

I will use my brain powers to predict what was actually said:

"You didn't hold the ball long enough to get that call"

And I think Newton heard something else..."You didn't hold the ball enough" becomes "You're not old enough"
