Can anyone fill me in on Jake Thomas?

I just saw that there is a 4star O-lineman a few miles down the road from Starkville. Surely the only logical college choice is Mississippi State. Does anybody have any info on this guy?

As of a month ago, it's down to us, Stanford, and Bama (if they offer) OM, USM with an outside shot.

Somewhere out there that shows him dominating Channing Ward in a game last season. Of course, it is Thomas' highlight video, but it is still pretty encouraging. People that were there say he made Ward quit, TIFWIW...

I'd say that at this point it will be a disappointment if he doesn't commit at BDC.

I think Thomas will be the only 4-star type of commit we get. Might get a DL. Rod Crayton might bite. Shumpert will be at the camp, but he's at OM the day before. Prolly gonna go to NSD with him, much like Tony Conner. Droogsma will be here, he would be a sexy pick up, but I dont see him committing yet (FSU legacy I think). Not sure if Jamal Clayborn will be at BDC, but he's not committing to a school till August 4th. There might be a couple low 2-3 star guys that get commitable offers and take it. Maybe a Rashawn Smith or Stacy Gardner (if they are invited).<div>

It's our #1 recruiting day of the year, at least it has been thusfar under Mullen. Paul Jones puts the over/under @ 3.5 new commits there. The only one I know of being expected is Thomas though. The others will likely come from Mullen's evaluation of guys there, or be other high profile guys with "surprise" commits, much like Kailo was.

We're in position to be far more picky right now than we've been in years past. Only likely taking 9-12 more, and 3-4 of those will probably be JUCO's(not participating in BDC)..

Last year, we got 3 new commits there: Grindle, Walley, and Barnes.
In 2011, we got 7: Cox, Arrington, Maiden, Knox, Morrow, Robinson, and Prescott.
