can anyone out west stop mount airy ?

North Rowan would actually be a faster team that MA could struggle with. North Stanly as well. Can’t count out Murphy or Mitchell. The west is wide open. MA might not even win their conference.
Interesting fact,Mitchell has never lost lost to Mount Airy, 4-0, and Murphy is 2-3 against the Bears
Bears have all they want in the conference championship, West is a shootout. Should be fun come playoff time. Bears deff have the talent to play in the ship, but so are a few other teams. Cards are real good to, gonna take a whole lotta 1a football team to out either.
The most recent was in 2015, en route to the state championship, the rest were in the 80's when both were 2a. It still boggles my brain lol
Mt Airy is the clear favorite and will be hard to beat but on a given night there are a 4-5 teams in the west with the talent to beat them if the chips fall their way. Murphy: very strong running game with very good lines and a very good defense. North Stanly: some great athletes, very explosive running game and a very good defense. Mitchell: really good dual threat QB, a very balanced offense and a good defense. East Surry: really good dual threat QB, really strong passing game and a solid defense. North Rowan: some really good athletes, a balanced offense and a very good defense.

Of the aforementioned teams I think North Stanly is probably the only one that has as much or more talent than Mt Airy, but Mt Airy has a passing game that any 1A team will struggle with and also a coaching advantage against North. So I would favor Mt Airy.

1AA west is very competitive...Bears will be in the mix...getting a few injured players back will help...defense getting better...offense starting to click...
To beat MA you will simply have to outscore them and it could take 45 plus to do that. They are a potential offense with several weapons. #21 Greene #5 Greene #6 Smith rb and QB Poindexter who owns all time passing records in a game at ma. Kicker will put in ez all night. #1 and #7 all speedsters.
Tarboro is good , REAL GOOD, nole just said what all the haters won’t admit. The bears were in the game till late in the 4th , ain’t no denying that . Bears are starting to find there stride , qb has thrown for 2000 plus with 3 games left, would be around 3000 if he had sit in the second half of a few games, he got a lot of talent around him , still has to make the reads and throws. It’s gonna take a whole lotta 1a football team to out them. Gonna be a fun game last game of regular season.
Also makes ya wonder how well they defend the pass? Not many HS defences are great in coverage, especially in 1a, and Mt. Airy throws it well this year
Time will tell , Bears have all they want coming to town in a VERY GOOD East Surry team. The confusion and chaos that came along with a new offense and coaching staff are gone and the Bears are running on high octane. Improving every week. One week and one game at a time. Lots of good teams in the west. I’m heading down to watch north Stanly and north Rowan tonight, will be very interesting to see if north Stanly goes east. I hear very good things from my buddies on here about north Stanly . Vikes aren’t unbeatable like most say but they are the defending champs and they do set the bar VERY HIGH!!
Here’s the thing everyone knows what Tarboro runs they don’t change a thing they have been running this same offense since the 50’s and they have it perfected and let me remedy you once more their defense is seriously seriously the Truth! Their offense is better than last year just to give you an indication of things to come.. like I said if you haven’t seen them in person best not to comment like this

Im not disputing anything anyone says about Tarboro being a great team. I just keep wondering how many more posts/threads need to be made about it. I think everyone has gotten the message. They are a great team and should win the 1AA Championship barring a monumental meltdown.
Mt Airy and Comm School of Dav are best pass offenses in the west - it’s not even close. I think Mt Airy will be a tough out regardless who they play.
