on my home in Starkville from the recent wind. Since I do not live there year round can anyone give me some suggestions? Pictures sent to me from my neighbor show what appears to be minor damage but will need some shingle replacement. All responses are appreciated either by inbox or reply to this post.

Don`t do a damn thing until you`ve had your insurance company look at it. If you get the right adjuster you might get a whole new roof. Happened to me one time after a very small hail storm and a second time after minor damage from Katrina. You never know what those guys will come up with.

But you need to make enough repairs so there are no leaks and destruction of the inside.

Insurance companies in general, maybe not all of them, are changing the way they assess hail damage roofs. I've heard that they will be considering the age of the roof and prorate now, among other things. I believe that USAA does this ... not sure about State Farm, which is the one I have.

Thanks for all the suggestions; Jack at Redwood Roofing came right out and promptly and reasonably took care of the problem. Kudos to them for their fine service!
