Nowell was not only part of 64 of the Kansas State’s 98 points (scored 20 points and set up 44 points on his 19 assists), he also finished with more assists than the entire Spartans team (18).

Incredible feat in an astounding game. Best by far of this March Madness and maybe a decade of others.

Now if Texas can beat Xavier on Friday that would give the Big 12 TWO teams in the Elite Eight and they can't meet till the national title game. That hasn't happened since 1988, when Oklahoma and Kansas met in the national title game. It was the Big Eight and the Big 12 is just a renamed Big Eight. So Big 8/12 would do it twice in 35 years!!! In 1985, the Big East's Villanova and Georgetown met in the title game.

The 1985 Big East was the best basketball conference ever, and no amount of propaganda will change this fact, CFE. Villanova, Georgetown and St. John's all advanced to the Final Four and the underdog Wildcats beat the Hoyas in the National Championship Game.

I agree. Since West Virginia was in the mix or near those teams my eyes bulged out at the feats of the teams you mentioned. Today's Big 12, before March Madness, was a reincarnation of that Big East Conference.
