I know that it started with Bond but somebody had to have been tipped off when to contact him. Was it the NY Times guy getting a tip from the FBI since they nailed all of those guys in Alabama last month? I just do not think that Bond said well the first week of November I am going to tell people what I know. I really think that the timing of this had to do with the FBI nailing McGregor.</p>

Correct me if I'm wrong, y'all. It was Veazey, Thamel, and the ESPN guys working on getting something solid from John Bond re: Newton.
Bond made his statement public to get the story out before Thamel and ESPN could get something out publicly. It appeared something solid was going to be in the news in the next 2-3 days based on what Veazey was tweeting. Bond started it off in order to be proactive.
