<17> the fuss is all about over Minn and Chicago playing a game outdoors tonight? Going to be too cold, chance of snow, player safety? What the <17> ????
I dont get it.
Have we pussified the sport so much that the overpaid prima donna's dont want to play football outside??
Why can Chicago play outside? New England, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Green Bay.
Hell there are a ton of college teams up north that dont play indoors.
Tell me I'm missing something here but dont tell me the field may be frozen and thats the issue 'cause I've heard that>

I don't think too many people paid attention to him though. Not really a big deal I don't think. Just a tweet people shrugged off. He was the only player complaining.

I wish they would even play a Super Bowl up north and outside every now and then. When I was a kid those were the most fun games to watch. Too many wienies out there!

I think it is more of an issue of the frozen field. Does Lambeau have a heating system under their turf? I know where they play tonight is the fake stuff but are they able to put a heater under natural grass.

Yea they said earlier that all outdoor stadiums in the NFL have a way to heat the ground. The reason it was a big deal is the ground is frozen so it's like playing on concrete. But teams up north didn't always have heaters for the field and played games without problems so I don't see the big deal. And the reason college fields don't have heaters is because they don't need them, they don't play any games past thanksgiving at home for the most part.

I know it was a ****** stadium (the teams had to share one sideline with one getting one side of the 50 and the other the other side). But they embraced it and treated it like it was a huge home field advantage to play in the cold. Lots of memorable games from my childood in that old piece of **** stadium. I don't think the franchise has been the same since they moved to the MetroDome.

It is the field, every other field that is played in cold weather has
heaters under it to insure the ground isn't like concrete. They do not
play in the University of Minnesota's stadium past the middle of November. It is not designed to be occupied in the winter even by the fans. Even the toilets entrances are open air and the pipes
will freeze.

No, the NFL is not pussified but the game has changed from the 6-3 games that were rampant in the day before the forward pass. The NFL is sending mixed messages by preaching safety and penalizing for these freaking hits but puts the players on a field that will cause more injuries than the hits do. The NFL doesn't care one crap about the players and it proved it by playing this game on that concrete.

I can see the players point and I also can't believe the Vikings as a dome team would choose to do this but the Bears have to be excited to play out there.

I will say this, if it had been Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Micheal Vick that had gotten that head injury on the frozen turf instead of old #4 it would have been a much bigger story.
