The student section really got into the song before this game, doing the "hands go up" and then "bouncing" (or whatever you want to call it) movements. It really looked cool at the stadium. Maybe we could even do it before the 4th quarter too, like Wisconsin does "Jump Around".

Any chance at getting the blue hairs to join in?

Maybe some camera shots of folks doing the said up-down. Meh, they'd probably just freak and point at the videoboard.

of the game before we worry about anything else. Those 17ers should be ridiculed mercilessly for pulling that ****.

most crackers aint gonna know it. Me and my two kids were the only ones doing it in my section and drawing many laughs. Main problem is this isn't a mainstream almost pop song for people to catch on too. If the team did it, then people in the stands would jump on it like the DPR, just hopefully not the band (though the band did get some street cred for playing it at the Alcorn game). I like the idea though.

We had quite a few of us doing in F, including some older adults. I have noticed more and more doing it through the stadium.

I think it is spreading even among the old people, and I do think showing more and more fans doing it on the jumbotron would help spread it quicker.

Yes, right after we learn to do the maroon / white cheer without a mic man. Or a sponsor.

It looks like most of them are doing their pom-poms twice as fast as they should be. .

But yes, that's it. I think we should do that before the fourth quarter. And since the mighty six-pack got the Hangover video on the pre-game, maybe this idea will make its way up too. I think it's worth a shot - we don't really have anything special before the fourth quarter, and I think it would get the crowd (esp the students) and the players fired up.

as organized as that. I was more impressed w/ the crowd singing "Louisiana Saturday Night." Sound quality sucks, but it was impressive in person:

Not if they're Baptists. It's too close to dancing.

What is up with our pom pom distribution? Seems like we used to give them to everyone. Are they only to the student section? Even the student section looks nowhere like Auburn's. Do our students just stick them in their back pockets or what? I think all those pom poms (like Auburn does) look awesome.

What I think we should do is hand out something similar to "terrible towels" in maroon and white. Watching the baseball playoff games in San Fran reminded me how cool a stadium looks with that many towels twirling. I am really surprised Auburn hasn't gone to this with Trooper Taylor's weak *** leading the charge. Seriously though, I think it would be cool. We could even do a instructional on the video board showing all the stupid MFers how to stick thier 17ing towels into their cowbells when the opposing team is running a 17ing play so we can 17ing not get strip searched upon entering the stadium next year.

Just print an M-State on the towel with the following sentence:

Stick this 17ing towel in your 17ing cowbell when the other team is on offense you 17ing dubmass.

Just a rubber ball that fits over the clanger. Then all the stupid rednecks that can't follow instructions can just put the rubber ball in during the right times and still get their jollies off. I actually think it might sound horrifying to hear 20k condom covered clangers thudding away when the other team is calling a play. It would probably sound like a large buffalo stampede.

All joking aside, I still think the towel is a great idea. Give one side of the stadium maroon, one side white - it is something you can actually take home or use at a tailgate. Get on it Stricklin.

When I was young, early 80's, some of you may remember the Bulldog Blitz posters they handed out at games. Maroon on one side, White on the other. I probably still have one in a box somewhere. Anyway, one side would be maroon and one would be white, just like now, holding up whichever color your section was. Pretty dummy-proof. The towels can be a great update to that idea -- they probably even make two-sided towels. And everybody can have one to bring to the games.

BUT - back then we said "Maroon", "White", then everybody said "Bulldog Blitz!" together. That was the defense's catch phrase back in those days, but the point is there was an end to it. It didn't rhyme, but at least it sounded like a complete cheer.

My point with all this is that we really need an ending to the color cheer. I love when there are 25,000 people on each side doing the colors, but it always just fizzles out at the end into "maroonwhitemaroonwhitemurmurmurmur..." Maybe it's because I knew the old way, and no one even notices this now except me. Somebody come up with a good idea, and start that back up. Then at least it sounds like a complete cheer.

Maroon...White...
Maroon...White...Fight fight fight? (Bonus - ties into the end of Hail State)
Maroon...White...Bulldogs Bite?

I don't know. Help me out here.
