He's entitled to his opinion and he has a credible take on it although I would obviously like to think differently. Like Dan Mullen says, we have to live in the real world.

I heard the first 10 seconds or so before I could get to the remote. Take solace in the fact that he has been wrong about basically everything he has said this season. He was really big on Notre Dame earlier in the year when anyone who had watched one of their games could see they had issues. Auburn was also going to drill us and everyone else.

When asked about Mississippi State, "they have no chance." That's as far as I got.

He also said Nick Marshall woukd win Heisman and Dak wouldn't even be in the discussion. Also said Florida woukd play for SEC championship. The guy has literally been wrong about every prediction.

Listened to the entire conversation. What he said wasn't negative against State.

We must have been listening to different interviews. He puts Baylor and OSU before us.

Disagreed with everything that sack of **** said on that debate. In particular, do you think the SEC would have pushed the playoff if conference championship was the top criterion, eliminating the possibility of two teams from the same conference making the field? Sallée seems to think so.

Gotta be pragmatic about the way this committee is thinking. The fact is that the SEC ain't going to get two teams in although maybe they should. Wearing maroon colored glasses at this point in time is not reality. It still all has to play out. We had our chance at Bama and we didn't get it done, doesn't mean we're not a damn good football team. I will savor many of the victories this year, individually, over and over again.

He said the primary purpose for the committee is creating controversy - to set the programming for the week of college football. He said the committee should have dropped State to 6th to avoid getting railroaded. Sallée wants to use full-body of work for Baylor but not for State (he didn't pump OSU, so I'll hold off on that.. Doesn't work like that and he don't like like it.

Not maroon glasses. Just know that it all has to play out.

If this was reality, why leave us in last week? If what you say is correct, they should've dropped us out after a loss. Now they have to explain why we were jumped.

My head pretty much agrees that 2 sec teams won't get in but I'm still holding out hope.

Looking at this logically, is State, OSU, Baylor and TCU all win out then I believe our win over Ole Miss will be the most impressive. Baylor would be a close second with kansas st. Then followed by OSU over either Wisconsin or Nebraska. Hopefully OSU plays Wisconsin in the championship and then the argument can be made we beat LSU who beat Wisconsin. Same thing with auburn over kansas st.

I agree. The committee obviously likes us...

The committee has had their chances to move State down, but kept us at #1 after a couple mediocre games and now #4 after a loss. Not to mention they had 3 SEC teams in the Top 4 for one or two weeks. I don't doubt they're willing to put 2 SEC teams in the final four.

They obviously like State and I believe we will end up in the Top 4 if we beat Vandy handily and then beat Ole Miss in Oxford.

Another thing I liked...after this latest playoff ranking, the chairman used the words "Game Control". ESPN has this new stat called game control that had State #1 the entire season until this week. Bama is now #1 and State is #2.

This is what I heard, and if so it makes me angry. That should not/must not be the job of the committee. That would be very disappointing.

And if so, we better bring our own lube for the final show, even if we properly take care of business.

If being a conference champ is a prerequisite, why do the poll at all before champuonship games are over? If it's just gonna be one per conference, the committee should just wait and pick best 4 of the conference champs. If they do pick all conference champs, good luck getting viewers for their show next year.

And if this is the case you can not make an argument for FSU and the acc. There is no comparing the acc to any other power conference and it's not even close. If you only want the 4 best conference champions, it has to be bama, Ohio state, Oregon and Baylor/TCU

We forget that the Arkansas AD is running this boat. He, above all others, realizes that sometimes you should have two SEC teams in final four if all other conferences can't touch our SoS. The ACC conference champ will be no more remarkable than the B1G or the B12. Wisconsin has a far better chance of beating tOSU than OM has of beating us. The Big 12 champ won't stand up to the eye test as their teams win on offense. Absolutely no defense played in that league. I can still see Oregon choking one more away. I still say final 4 will be Alabama, FSU, Oregon and State. Maybe they pair us with Alabama out of the gate even though Condi Rice said it was not the wish of the committee to have rematches in semi finals. If it all came down to the conference champs then why even go the route we have gone. Why not just wait till all power five conference champs have been determined then weed one out based on SoS.

Did Oregon get it done against Arizona?

How about Bama against Ole Miss?

Or Ohio State against Virginia Tech?

Plus we played Bama on the road, not at home. We deserve another shot, on a neutral site if we win out.

If Notre Dame had our resume, would they be in? If your answer is "Yes" to this and no to MSU, than you are simply punishing MSU for being in a conference, which is absurd and a ridiculous argument.

Wild Card teams win the World Series, Super Bowl, and NBA playoffs all the time. Plus college football doesn't have a "home and home" division schedule. We lost on the road to a team that no other team would have beaten under those circumstances. We should be in, if we win out.

Beat me to it. I didn't watch/listen to this interview and won't, but why this guy is viewed as a credible voice on any sports-related topic is beyond me.

Difference between fact and opinion. OPINION: You don't think the SEC will get 2 teams in. FACT:You you don't have a clue. FACT: The committee has ranked a total of 8 SEC teams in the top 4 in 4 weeks of rankings and they didn't drop us out of the top 4 when we lost, plus they bumped Bama all the way up to #1. OPINION: I think that's a pretty good indication that the SEC will get 2 teams in if both us and Bama win out.

Damn it patdog, there you go using logic and ruining a good freak out. Agree with everything you said.

I'll add this...the committee is fully capable of looking ahead just like the rest of us. They can see who Ohio State/Baylor/TCU have to play and predict likely outcomes. They can see Ohio State has a good chance to play Wisconsin in the B1G title game and would be favored. They know Baylor/TCU will be favored in their remaining games. If a conference title was going to jump any of those teams over us then the time to rank us below them was last week. The fact they didn't is telling.

It's entirely possible that I don't have a clue. It's possible that no one has a clue, even the committee. This is new for them as much for anybody else. It's an experiment at this stage, but one that will have a definite result. I would say that regardless of their lack of intentional bias, they will be looking for a way to not have two SEC teams in there.

Furthermore

If Auburn were 9-1, would he say that they had zero chance?
