Yes they can.
Their defense cant shut down iowas run game, but they can make it manageable...and if they can keep the score low they have a chance. They should have a good posession offense this year with some playmakers on the edges and a qb who can feed them on play action.

Mountain West pundits are really high on Wyoming's QB, but not all that high on the team as a whole. I'm guessing Iowa avoids the upset, but I'll be pulling for the Pokes.

Didn't Josh Allen throw 5 interceptions against us last year? I know they were forced to throw once they got behind, but still he must have had a heckuva bounce back after that.

+13 all day. Josh Allen will be a top 3 pick next May. I think Wyoming has a great chance for the upset. Go pokes!

And a fumble. They were only behind by 7 part way through the 3rd quarter and had already missed two field goals. Wyoming is a surprising team. Iowa better be ready.

They could. Heck, NDSU shouldn't have been in that game last year but kept hanging around. I'd be more worried if their RB didn't go pro or they didn't lose their top 3 WRs from last year.

He threw 1/3 of his INTs against NU in 2016.

He forced 2 passes that definitely were bad picks, but he had 3 others that clanked off the hands of his receivers.

I still think about that 40 yard TD throw he made before the half. That throw was a "1st Round Throw." No QB in the Big Ten could've made that throw. He evaded a rush, rolled all the way to the far sideline and threw a bullet, 40 yards to the corner of the end zone into the arms of a shocked receiver. You can't defend that type of play. That's why he's considered a premium talent.

He reminds of me Pat Mahomes from Texas Tech and the 1st round pick for the CHiefs.

Not bad for a guy who was 2 star and only other offer out of junior college was from eastern michigan. Out of high school he received zero offers from any level of ncaa football.

Allen is a good QB, but lets remember that they lost a very good RB & WR. They will be starting a true freshman at Center as well. I think Iowa will win this game easily. I think they can run the ball well against Wyoming and keep Allen off the field. I do believe though that Bohl is one heck of a coach and his guys will be ready to play tough physical football. I hope it's a decent game but I think Iowa gets the job done.

I will take the 1st round qb over a 1st start for a 19 year old kid.. qb play wins this game..wyoming will definately have guys in the box to stop the run and if that frosh has to make plays.. not sure he can make as many good plays to offset his mistakes..couple that with iowas young wide recievers.. wyoming in a close game

Bullies of the B1G will win the game, too much beef on both sides of the ball for Wyoming to contend with. Iowa can run on an NFL team.

A healthy C.J. Beathard could make that throw. Allen is a stud and should go early 1st Round.

Bob Sanders gain an extra year of eligibility all of a sudden? You haven't been a bullying, physical D for a long time.

I feel like Iowa always struggles against these types of teams early in the year. Thru always seem to play their best near the end of the year. I don't think Wyoming will win, but it wouldn't shock me in the least to see them win.

It's a coin flip. But any program that can lose to Northern Illinois, Central Michigan, Western Michigan (twice!), and North Dakota State on their home field is more than capable of being shredded by a QB the caliber of Josh Allen.

That's what I am getting at. I am in the boat that this will be the worst Hawkeye team in a while. They are really going to miss CJ. I don't their new qb is that good. If Wyoming can stop their running game, it will be a long day for Iowa.
