I was thinking about this last night..

Giving a shout out to Rodney hood. Don't hate him, but I don't wish him any luck. Hell with em...

I came to this conclusion....

Stay with a program in shambles with a unproven first year head coach <<<<<<<<play for="" arguably="" one="" of="" the=""
play for one of the best coaches in NCAA history and be in the spotlight every day(ESPN)

I hate it, but I can't blame him</play>

I can't blame him either. That said, I still hope he's a huge bust there.

He would have been the biggest idiot ever to stay at MSU. This isn't all just fun and games for players of his caliber, this is his livelihood (pun intended). Hood staying at MSU would be like one of us turning down a free ride to Harvard to attend MVSU. Selfish and narrow-sighted of us to think otherwise.

I absolutely hope that Rodney Hood thrives. His dad has given a huge piece of his heart and talent to MSU. Old men are obligated to point the young in the direction that benefits the young. That a decency bottom line.

Hey, mstate7, if Florida wins the tourney, one of us probably wins the Six Pack Bracket group.

Good luck.

I think Florida us good enough to win the thing; but they've been going in these state-like scoring droughts that have me worried. Murphy has to be hot to win it. Good luck to you.

Oh I can hear it now if Florida wins it all from Bear Nation....

"We beat the National Champions in the SEC Championship, therefore technically we won the NC!!!"

And I suppose I'm selfish, but I think he should have honored his scholarship. In a perfect world, we get to NCAA in two years and send duke home. Please Lord

If he honored it, why the penalty of sitting out a year? Although I am a hypocrite bc I didn't want us to honor Sydney's. It's according to who we're talking about when I decide my stance on this issue. Haha

Hey dipdick, learn about what you speak of. Nothing worse than someone who has an opinion and is ignorant on the issue.

Scholarships are year to year. Hood fulfilled his, just like you wanted. Scholarships are year to year and this can be shown when coaches push players out of the program, players go to JUCO, or players choose to transfer.
Players have to sit out a season because the NCAA says so. They have the rule for some sports and not others. It isnt a penalty assessed specifically to Hood or something like that.

If Hood had left midseason, then you would have a point. But he didnt, so you dont.

Hey, at least you recognize your hypocrisy, that saves the rest of us the trouble of explaining it to you.

I'm a fan of miss state and what benefits miss state. Rodney hood said 17 state so I say 17 him. This has become a much bigger deal than I meant it to be when I posted in a drunken state. Flame away...

Think your comparison is a bit extreme-Harvard to MVSU, compared to Duke to State. Don't think the comparison is valid.

Thought coach ray did a really good job considering hand he was dealt. How much did South Carolina pay a proven winner? Ray got best of Martin with half the scholarship players. Pretty impressive. I'm not ready to declare ray the next bill self, but he's not a bust -- so far.

Did Hood really say that? Or did Hood perhaps say, 'Boy, this is a difficult decision to make and while I have made friends and appreciate what I learned at MSU, I have a finite number of years to develop and learn to earn a living in basketball, so with the turmoil that is going on at MSU, I think it will be best for me to play elsewhere.'

If he said that to State, will you say that to him?

You have to be 12. There is no possible way an adult is this black and white. There is no possible way an adult is this big a fan of a college program that they cant see the validity in multiple sides of an issue.

I'm sure when cj flipped to ole miss you were happy he took in all the circumstances and made a decision that was best for him. I didn't. I got pissed and don't care if that makes me immature. Maybe ill take up sensitivity classes but I doubt it

Im just one of those crazies who thinks the anonymity of the internet is at play

You are telling a guy to go 17 himself because he decided to transfer to another school after fulfilling his scholarship obligation to MSU. It just stinks of one of those things that people say on the internet but wouldnt ever say in person.

I also dont understand how someone can go from cheering for a guy to not just hating on him, but saying he should go 17 himself, all because the guy decided to change schools.
So all that cheering was what, regretful now?

Its just such an odd emotional rollerocoaster that you must ride.

It was cheering for miss state. Since Rodney hood wore state uniform I cheered for him. He decided to leave what state team mates he had left to suffer through a tough season. I've got nothing for him. To each his own. I've got my opinion and you've hot yours. Mine just makes me a child while yours shows how enlightened you are. Pray for me
