Don't get the QB selection. Talk radio here in Bham is blowing up about McCarron being disrespected.

Surprised to see Nickoe listed. Matthew Wells will make the Post season one.

mckinney had more tackles (102 tackles, 4 tfl, 0 forced fumbles, 1 sack, 0 ints) vs nkimdeecheese (82 tackles, 13 tfl, 4 forced fumbles, 3 sacks, 3 ints).

mckinney was significantly better at being a tackling presence, although the 3 ints and 4 forced fumbles are very impressive on denzel's account. i guess we will have to be happy with "under the radar" as usual.

i guess you cant complain too much, after all, it is a coaches poll and i think its safe to assume that there isnt some agenda. the media always seems averse to our guys, but the coaches know for the most part, not that they havent whiffed before. better tackler: mckinney better defensive disruptor: nkimdeecheese

It was the coaches. They don't know ****.

This is a Mississippi State message board, so obviously a lot of people will think that Benardrick McKinney is a better linebacker than Denzel Nkemdiche. It's just an opinion. Don't be such a ***** about it.

Besides, how many head coaches actually vote in this thing? Spurrier didn't have Tebow as 1st team a few years ago, and he said some grad assistant made a mistake when he filled out the ballot.

That seems to reinforce the hatred for Wilson's defense last year being "read and react" versus "attacking style". A very good MLB with only 1 sack and only 4 tackles for loss. What the 17? I can't find the stats, but I seem to remember Chris White with Diaz as DC getting like 3 sacks just against Florida.

ETA: Found some of the stats. Chris White 2010- 110 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 Ints, 1 Pass deflection, and 1 fumble recovery. Couldnt find TFL

On a related note, something I've been trying to remember.

Obviously Denzel Nkmdmdncjdcche was a guy OM signed in order to hopefully sign his brother (and that's worked out VERY well for them). Didn't we sign Kendrick Market in hopes of signing somebody else? Who was it?

That was being a *****? Isn't your point that its no big deal because the coaches probably don't vote anyway? If so, why care in the 1st place? Its the end of the yr All-SEC teams that matter. Hell Sawyer's not even our best corner, and he's a 3rd teamer. Its just fun man, no ***** here

Not at all

Message boards don't get under my skin. I just find it funny how much time you actually spend on a state board and will point it out any chance I get

You come to another school's message board to complain and give some smart *** comment every time anyone says something about State is better than UM; I'd say that makes you the definition of a whiny *****. Seriously, if UM fans say they don't care about State, why in the 17 does it seem like all of rebel nation has an account on SPS? I guarantee you there are way more UM fans over here than there are State fans on NAFOOM.

You're right, it isn't a big deal at all. I never said it was. I just think it's absurd that you feel the need to be a smart *** when someone disagrees with a coaches preseason poll. My point was: why are you surprised that a State fan would think McKinney is a better LB than Nkemdiche? You just seemed totally appalled at the notion that someone would actually disagree with the almighty coaches preseason All-SEC team.

Wasn't it Brassell? That was a "lets offer this kid a scholarship because we like his best friend but we'll be happy with just him" offer. Market will be a solid DB for us his junior and senior years. He reminds me a lot of Pegues minus 3 stars. Both are small and shifty.

If McKinney had a DL worth a **** (the talent is there, but the coaching made that line horrible... so there is hope) he would have had some legit stats outside of tackles. You've got to remember how the 2012 defense worked... snap football... let DB's do their thing... send McKinney in for a tackle. I think with an actual line presence he'll be a complete stud. I think Denzel has reached his ceiling... and if he stays there that's pretty good (not a knock). McKinney was the most talented athlete of the front 7 all season and he doesn't have much experience and didn't have much help. His stats might level out but only because he's THE guy now... he has the potential to be a 1st round pick.

Funny how LB went from our worst unit to by far and away our best unit in as little as 2 years. McKinney and 2 4 stars next to him with 3 and 4 stars as backups. Collins... THE MAN!
