getting the infield Redbird Club seats for about 75-80 dollars if you can get them. They're great seats, and there's an indoor concourse that is air conditioned and has some pretty decent food and lines that are shorter than the concession stands.

I know that's expensive, but it's worth it.

The Cardinals have 5 days off in August. 23 of 26 games are against teams with losing records. 13 games are against last place teams (SD, Wash., Pit.). AND The Cubs play 16 of first 22 in August on the road.

I'm really worried about the Cubs pen...Heilman, Marmol, and Gregg don't scream champioship to me. But the Cubs starters are better 1-5 than the Tards....Soriano has gotten hot and Ramirez is hitting along with DLee...but Bradley has to get on a roll for them to hang strong...

Good race till the end...but the Cubs need to address the bullpen issue

about Lilly having surgery and Zambrano's back, though.

Plus, the Cardinals moving Wellemyer to the bullpen was as big an upgrade as any.

The Cardinals staff is not too shabby either with Carpenter- who is now leading the league in ERA at 2.19, I believe, Wainwright with 12 wins, Piniero has a .500 record, but his ERA is under 3. I think he will benefit as much as anyone from the new acquisitions. Then Lohse is the weakest link right now, but he's much better at home, and I don't think he's quite 100% yet. The Cardinals are going to a four man rotation, so I'm stopping there. Mitchell Boggs has been decent in some spot starts, though, like yesterday. He won't pitch for another 10 days, though, if things go as planned.

Franklin stepping up has been huge, and I love Jason Motte- he can throw 98, and he's just learning how to pitch.

Losing DeRosa your probably right about because he would've been nice to have with all the injuries all over the place and Fontenot sucks ***. Still I'd probably say it's more the fact that their best player went down after 17 games and the rest of their "studs" combined to bat around .200 in the first half. But at least DeRosa is something you can argue about. But Kerry Wood? Really? What legitimate reason do you have for arguing that him not being on the team has killed the Cubs? Is it his 5.25 ERA or his 5 blown saves in 19 opportunities? And don't say something dumb about team chemistry as your argument. The Cubs bullpen can be rough to watch at times but Gregg is not a reason why. He's been lights out since the beginning of May

assuming that you are talking about Aramis Ramirez as the Cubs best player. He seems like he is the glue to that whole lineup.

He kind of gets lost in the glut of third basemen that have come up like Longoria and David Wright- despite the fact that Ramirez has routinely hit 30 home runs, driven in 100 RBI'sm, hits .300 and plays excellent defense. Heck, Ramirez has more home runs than Wright has right now despite all the time he missed.

He's blown 4 saves. He may have been on a roll since May, but his ERA is still almost 4. I think Wood has a better year staying in Wrigley as opposed to being cast off to his first new team since high school. Gregg is going to cost them tough games down the stretch.

No doubt Aramis going down hurt, as well as DLee and The Board Game getting off to slow starts...but the bullpen of Marmol and Gregg has been ugly and I dont trust it down the stretch.
