because with all our freaking holes ...4yr 50million on a closer makes the most sense.
look i am pissed at marmol today, too ...but closer isn't our issue, we have guys that can close, we just wanted marmol to go and and prove he is still valuable so we could dump him
other players that should prove their value this year, so we can get rid of their contract for younger and players with at least a hint of obp value

Pay a guy 8 digits to pitch the 9th when you already have a lead is absurd. The whole closer system is. And it would be just like the Cubs to do it.<div>
