Carolina conference 1a 2018

[LHS GRAD]

We are 3 weeks into the season and I think there were a lot of question marks start the season.

Princeton 3-0
The tigers haven't had any problem scoring points. The single wing seems to give a lot of teams fits. Their offensive line as usual seems to be pretty dominant

Lakewood 3-0
The leopards are surprisingly off to a fast start. Only returning 2 starters on offense and losing key players on defense they seem to be improving week to week

Rosewood 2-1
The Bulldogs have 2 respective wins...and only lost coming to 3a c.b. aycock

North duplin 2-1
Similar to lakewood lost a lot of players but really well coached. Expect them to get better and better as the season goes on

Union 2-1
Union is always the danger team...a lot of good athletes but injuries plagued them last year. If they can stay healthy wouldn't be surprised if they finished 1st

Hobbton 1-2
A new attitude and a new scheme...I am excited for those kids but I think results will be the same.

Lakewood 4-0. Its not very often you lose the turnover battle and still win ball games. Spotted midway 3 t.d's off turnovers and allowed a kickoff for a t.d. and still found a way to win

Princeton 3-0 had a bye week

Rosewood 3-1 whooped up on pender

North duplin 3-1 beats up on a much improved lejeune team

Union 2-2 loses to trask.

Hobbton 2-2 beats spring creek. Could not be more excited for the wildcats

Lakewoods running back Smith is the real deal and so is the dlinemen #53 i believe......Hobbton has improved so much in the last year and crazy thing is that team is still very very young dare i say in a year or two you could be looking at a extremely dangerous Wildcat team.....i see yall conference coming down to Princeton,Lakewood, Rosewood and North Duplin seems to be alot of parity wouldnt be surprised to see co champs even a 3 way tie

Hobbton picks up win number 3 over Smithfield-Selma tonight, 23-6.... avenging a near 60 pt loss from a year ago. Hobbton is still not where they want to be quite yet....but what a great turnaround this year. Kudos to the coaching staff.

2nd week of conference play starting this week.

Princeton 5-0 vs. 3-3 Hobbton

Princeton's dynamic running attack vs the wildcat aerial assault. Princeton is coming off a dominant win against union and hobbton is coming off a loss against rosewood. Right now princeton looks to be the front runner in the conference. I expect a big win against hobbton

Union 2-3 vs 3-2 North Duplin

Both teams coming off a loss last week. North duplin plays hard and I expect them to rebound and stay in the hunt for a conference championship.

Lakewood 5-0 vs Rosewood 4-1

Game of the week in the conference. The winner is in the driver seat to challenge princeton. I expect a close game fewest mistakes wins the game

Final week of conference play and we have Princeton and Rosewood leading the way.

Princeton 8-0 vs. Rosewood 7-1
Both teams undefeated in conference play. They have many common opponents. Non conference and conference almost played identical schedule. Two conference foes less than 10 miles apart. It will be a great game. Princeton brings the high powered rushing attack vs Rosewoods well balanced offense. Running game advantage princeton. Passing game advantage rosewood. Defense advantage rosewood. Special teams advantage rosewood. The key to the game will be can rosewood slow down rushing attack and can princeton slow down the passing game. I wouldn't be surprised to see the score on football friday in the 40's or higher for both teams. Gonna be a good one between the to rivals!

Union and hobbton play Monday so I will wait until after the game to post opinion of those two games
