But you're saying KB is shooting a.much worse percentage at Washington than he did at UK, but he's still able to average 5ppg more.

Also, if he's a focal point, wouldn't defenses focus on stopping him more?

My point still stands, a large amount of these kids play better when they leave here. Bryce Hopkins is one of the best examples to use. So is Booker.
Again dude that's because he's taking 5 more shots per game and playing more minutes (his points per minute stats are almost identical at UK and Washington nevertheless). And yes defenses are focused on stopping him, hence why he's shooting a lower percentage at Washington (but still shooting more because he is their #1 option, but not a good enough player that defenses are super worried about keeping him from getting shots off). I can list off countless examples of players who score more points at smaller schools because they have larger roles (Mark Sears for example at Bama, who averaged 20 at Ohio).

And I don't take it as combative at all. We've gone back and forth a few times on here and I actually think you're acknowledging opposing viewpoints more than you have in the past. It's all love brother we're both passionate fans and nothing wrong with being argumentative from time to time.

I definitely agree about Bryce Hopkins and Juzang. Hopkins specifically because we just didn't use him the right way at all.

Pros: Confident scorer. Excellent hands. Toughness. Good assist turnover ratio at 2/1. Decent FT (76%) shooter.
Cons: Can't stay in front of drivers. Fair 3PT (35%) and FG (44%) shooter.

Perhaps not a top 5 PG at UK the last 14 years but the competition is fierce.

These are all qualities I want in my point guard though.

My personal rankings of players put in the position of lead guard (based on performance while at UK) are:
Ulis
Wall
Knight
Fox
Teague
SGA
Andrew Harrison
Wallace
Briscoe
Hagans
Wheeler
Green
Harrow
Askew

I put Teague a bit higher than others would because I think he was the right guard at the right time. He wanted to pass first and shoot later and he did that really well, especially in the tournament. Wallace beats out Briscoe, for me, because while I love Briscoe’s fight he couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn unless it was layup and he was fascinated with stepping on the baseline.
That’s pretty darn good.

Andrew Harrison is way too high. I think he was a bottom 3 starting point guard. Look at his fg% each season. It’s terrible. Not to mention he wasn’t a great defender (although better in year 2). And his assists weren’t high for a pg
Idk if I’d put him in the same bottom 3 category with Askew and Harrow for company. But to each their own. In his freshman season he got to the title game and his sophomore year he went 38-1. I blame the one loss in 2015 on Cal telling Andrew to play stall ball moreso than on Andrew himself.

But numbers wise there certainly are some that are better than I had lower. Again, I really was looking at how the team and player performed. I might be putting too much stock into Andrew’s contribution but I certainly wouldn’t lump him in with Harrow and Askew.

Please tell me where he stands in the Cal PG hierarchy……

I would say one of the most overrated (so they say) first round draft picks.

I don’t see it.
I don't see him as a point guard ... he seems to be out of position to me. He was Cal's only option beyond Wheeler. More of Cal's magical recruiting and roster management.

SGA was also much more well rounded both offensively and defense than Knight. Knights team was better overall.
That’s a fair argument. My ranking was a combination of the player’s individual performance along with the team’s performance. Knight had ice running through his veins in the tournament and clutched us into a FF. As good as Jones, Lamb, Miller, Liggins, and Harrelson were if Knight wasn’t on that team they lose round 1.

SGA was an amazing player for UK no doubt and I can see why you feel that way.

Cason should stay 4 years at UK banking as much NIL as he can.

Will not be able to hang in the NBA. Doesn’t have the athleticism and not good enough shot to be a designated 3 point guy.

Maybe he can develop his shot better but his athleticism will remain average

He reminds me a lot of Tyrese Maxey. Pretty much the same exact player. Maxey was a little better than Wallace though.
