This was a complete win for the Cougars. From start to finish Catholic dominated Parkland. The Cougars did whatever they wanted.
Catholic went up 7-0 rather easily on the first drive of the game, then several missed tackles on defense allowed Parkland to tie the score at 7. After that the floodgates opened up. Berger hit Michael Neel over the middle for 36yrd and a touchdown to make it 14-7 and Milan Howard had a 16yrd run to make it 21-7.
At 21-7 senior DE Will Neal made an amazing play batting a pass up in the air and picking it off. Michael Neel ran it in right after to make it 28-7.
Midway through the 2nd the Parkland QB took a hit in the back on a run from a Cougar DB, he didn't move much for several minutes and was taken away in an ambulance, I was told he is ok and can move all body parts and that they were taking him there for precautions. Prayers out to the young man and his family, he is one of the shiftiest QBs I have seen, he will make a great RB/WR at the next level I believe.
It was 42-7 late in the 2nd when Parkland was deep in Cougar territory and called a TO with 2 seconds left on a 4th down to prevent Catholic from getting the ball. The result of the play was a 95yrd pick 6 which put CC up 48-7(missed XP) at halftime.
In the 3rd, Parkland had an 11 minutes 25 second drive that ended with a fumble at the Cougar 1, that drive had to be at least 15 plays if not 20.
The Cougars 2nd/3rd team played the entire second half and scored 1 TD to make the final 55-7.
All in all a solid win for Catholic, now onto a home date with Mount Tabor.
Fun Fact: This is the 7th year in a row that Catholic will play the day after Thanksgiving.
