Murphy 35 Andrews 20. No disrespect to Andrews just not the same team that beat Mitchell. I think injuries and 3 losses in a row has rained on their parade.

I think Murphy wins by 2 scores but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s pretty close going into the fourth. Andrews will be up for this game and they’re at home.

If I am Andrews, I want the ball to start and to have a long methodical drive. Take the wind out of Murphy on the first possession. If that happens, Murphy could be in for a long night. If I am Murphy, I want to set the tone early. I think this has the making to be a great game. The weather has definitely evened the playing field. Andrews will be ready and I doubt Murphy is overlooking the Cats. I have 2011 feels going into tonight.

Is Andrews healthy?

I would imagine they are probably healthier than they have been in a couple weeks. Kinda guess the reason they’ve been keeping the Martin kid at tight end was to prepare for this week.

We’re just guessing here but I doubt very seriously Andrews was saving players for Murphy. If Martin was healthy enough to run the ball against rville he would have. You play to win each game.

Martin only had 2 carries in the Robbinsville game. I expect him to try a few more in this one. Still don't think he gets 15-20 like early in the season. Maybe 8-10.

Just being honest, beating Murphy is absolutely huge to Andrews. I’m not saying that they would intentionally sit players to rest for the Murphy game, but it wouldn’t really surprise me if they did. You just don’t know how they view beating Murphy. And if the Martin kids injury was an ACL and meniscus tear injury, then inflammation isn’t something that would keep you from running the ball. I’ve had that injury and had it repaired. It’s something that never really goes away. That was 8 years ago and still to this day a deep bend in my knee bothers me. Just speaking from experience on that one. Inflammation around the knee in that type of injury doesn’t really hinder you. You just feel a lot of pressure when it bends. Although my experience could be different than his nonetheless. Just really don’t see a kid not running the ball because of inflammation in his knee that probably will never go away.

In close games rain and a wet ball can be a great equalizer in turn overs etc. At least it doesn't look as bad in the further west of Asheville games around 45-50% at the start of the games compared to close to 90% more east. Of course the field could already messy from yesterday's rain.

My 2 cents that’s not worth that. This Andrews group are winners. They have been since the beginning. I doubt they’ve gone into a single game this year expecting to lose. I think Murphy wins a close one not because it’s Murphy vs Andrews but because Andrews appears to be riddled with lingering injuries and depth issues. It wouldn’t surprise me if Andrews won though if I’m being honest because of the weather conditions. If Martin could go he would have, kid is a beast.

If they can somehow contain rumfelt, I think Andrews has a real shot

First off congratulations to Andrews, well earned and well deserved. You could tell which team truly wanted it more.

As for Murphy, we can harp on this, that or the other but the bottom line is this was an unacceptable result, full stop. If there's no changes on the horizon I'd expect to see a lot of empty stands next year and a bunch of pissed off people in the community.

Yeah there's more problems other than a couple assistant coaches

Maybe this will be a wake up call for Murphy. I know some things will not get sorted out this year but this loss may end up helping Murphy more than hurt. Maybe wake the coaching staff up….

I know how it feels since I remember Cherokee beat Swain a few years ago for the first time in something like 35 years. But with no skin in the game, happy to see Andrews finally turning their program around. We all know it's been too long and they're doing something right over there on the other side of the gorge.
