Terrible article. Taggart and Brohm have zero chance at the job. And Kiffin? Seriously? Shaw will head to the NFL before moving to another college gig. Besides, he's got it going at Stanford.

The article was written without giving much thought on the subject matter. A few names are legit but my grandson knows Brohm and Taggert have zero chance of breathing the air in Baton Rouge as head coach of LSU.
LSU, Texas, Notre Dame, Oregon, Auburn, and Southern Cal all might fire their coaches this year. That might be 6 of the top ten programs in college football. It is kind of hard to see them all getting big names.Such a weak, bland, unresearched article. There is literally only 1 name in that entire article that has a realistic chance at being the LSU head coach and that's Hermnan.
If LSU fired Les Miles and ends up with: Lane Kiffin, Mike Gundy, Willie Taggart, or Jeff Brohm as their head coach, Baton Rouge would burn to the ground. Fisher, DaAntoni, Petrino, Shaw and Patterson are not leaving their current jobs to go to LSU either. Its like I posted in another thread, LSU is an elite job but I think they are going to get a little bit of a reality check if they think they're just going to cherry pick whichever Power 5 head coach they want.
why isn't Sean Payton making any of these lists?

good lawd - even Calipari looks at that likeBecause he just signed a contract extension that will pay him $9 million per year for the next 5 years.
Don't count out Shaw, coaches at California schools have lower then average salaries (controlled/limited by the California legislators (they aren't going hungry but they don't make SEC West money)Terrible article. Stanford is a private school. Shaw makes $4 million.Don't count out Shaw, coaches at California schools have lower then average salaries (controlled/limited by the California legislators (they aren't going hungry but they don't make SEC West money)
but I read his contract is up in 2017. is that not right?Because he just signed a contract extension that will pay him $9 million per year for the next 5 years.

my bad and thank you. would indeed explain
Careful.....Spurrier stated very clearly at his press conference that he was not retiring, just stepping down at SCI'll take that bet.
Besides, he'd like nothing more to coach a team with the ability to take it to Saban.....his last conquest!Careful.....Spurrier stated very clearly at his press conference that he was not retiring, just stepping down at SC

Be a tad funny if in the end, LSU cannot make a homerun hire.
Uhm....I don't have any money,,,lolAgain, I'll take that bet.
Miles starts an nationwide tour apologizing for not caring about rape and Briles takes over at LSU? Doesn't seem likely.Perhaps Miles and Briles trade places?
I know.....we'll have a speeling contest!Again, I'll take that bet.
It appears based on the results of the Saints so far this year, Barnhart negotiated that contract for New Orleans.Because he just signed a contract extension that will pay him $9 million per year for the next 5 years.

Mike Gundy would be a home run for LSU......IMO.Such a weak, bland, unresearched article. There is literally only 1 name in that entire article that has a realistic chance at being the LSU head coach and that's Hermnan.

not gonna take t Boone's guy twice and live to tell about itMike Gundy would be a home run for LSU......IMO.
I didn't think about that angle. Gundy is a heck of a coach. And he's done way better at Okie State than Les Miles did.not gonna take t Boone's guy twice and live to tell about it
