Terrible article. Taggart and Brohm have zero chance at the job. And Kiffin? Seriously? Shaw will head to the NFL before moving to another college gig. Besides, he's got it going at Stanford.

Agree.

Agree. Taggert and Brohm use the same agency. They must have gotten to the author before he wrote the article.

The article was written without giving much thought on the subject matter. A few names are legit but my grandson knows Brohm and Taggert have zero chance of breathing the air in Baton Rouge as head coach of LSU.

Your grandson is not the only one who knows that.

Such a weak, bland, unresearched article. There is literally only 1 name in that entire article that has a realistic chance at being the LSU head coach and that's Hermnan.

If LSU fired Les Miles and ends up with: Lane Kiffin, Mike Gundy, Willie Taggart, or Jeff Brohm as their head coach, Baton Rouge would burn to the ground. Fisher, DaAntoni, Petrino, Shaw and Patterson are not leaving their current jobs to go to LSU either. Its like I posted in another thread, LSU is an elite job but I think they are going to get a little bit of a reality check if they think they're just going to cherry pick whichever Power 5 head coach they want.

LSU, Texas, Notre Dame, Oregon, Auburn, and Southern Cal all might fire their coaches this year. That might be 6 of the top ten programs in college football. It is kind of hard to see them all getting big names.

Which is why LSU getting a head start should benefit them.

Very true...I'm very curious to see what all those schools do. Something else to consider is that if we go into an off season where Strong, Brian Kelly, Les Miles etc are on the market then other schools that we may not be thinking about might fire their coach just to take a shot at one of those guys.

Don't count out Shaw, coaches at California schools have lower then average salaries (controlled/limited by the California legislators (they aren't going hungry but they don't make SEC West money)

Careful.....Spurrier stated very clearly at his press conference that he was not retiring, just stepping down at SC
Besides, he'd like nothing more to coach a team with the ability to take it to Saban.....his last conquest!

It appears based on the results of the Saints so far this year, Barnhart negotiated that contract for New Orleans.

He led the Saints to a Super Bowl victory. Let that sink in for a minute. That's the Saints - the franchise that was referred to as the Aints - by their own fans for decades.

Comparing Payton's extension to Stoops' is like comparing apples to ambulances.

Mike Gundy would be a home run for LSU......IMO.

I hope Coach O goes 5-3 but beats Bama by 2 touchdown. the fan base and boosters would turn on each other in an epic meltdown.
