If it's true, 17 that. Transferring because a coach got fired? Really?

Especially knowing you will be the feature guy on the team you are transferring from. This sucks.

He is a projected first rounder next year right? not sure how sitting out a year makes any sense at all.

He built a relationship with Stansbury and that's who he committed to. Next year is going to suck horribly.

a guy you had respect for and a great relationship with was forced out of his job in a way you deemed BS, and you had equal if not superior options available, you sticking around?

We had to make a change, but man, this whole ordeal was a bitter pill to swallow.

But the Hoods have been very uneasy about MSU ever since the fight in Hawaii. He asked to be let out of his scholarship last year, but we said no.

We literally have no leader coming back from last year's team. I was hoping Hood would step into that leadership role... I really hope this is not true.

<font face="sans-serif" size="2">I would be thoroughly shocked if a level-headed athlete like Rodney goes from praising his first workout with Coach Ray to wanting an exit shortly thereafter. Let's chill and hope these sources are dead wrong.</font>

he could have told Coach Ray he needed some time to think and been excused in all likelihood.

If he had said "I'm staying and I support Coach Ray," that would be one thing, but he and his dad both said on multiple occasions that he was still mulling over this decision. I hope you are right, though, and it's not true... he is literally the only reason I would watch this team next year.

I think these players have actually learned that they might have to work hard. Guess what! You might have to workout under Ray! Trim the fat coach! Nut up, but quitters are quitters! Time to purge

was a complete joke and my company kept under performing and we were in the red, I would welcome a change and get ready to work, not turn my back on my company. Oh, and not get paid for a year would suck too.

from the ground up. Unfortunately for him, he's doing that while following up a successful coach, so our fans are going to have a shorter leash than they did even with Stansbury.<div>
</div><div>Did you really think things weren't going to get worse before they got better if we completely changed paths? I'm not saying which way is better, because to me, Ray deserves four to five years to prove his mettle, especially now. </div>

Well if it meant that I couldn't work for a year and didn't get paid then I wouldn't leave. Especially if my ultimate goal was to get a huge promotion, and this move kept me from doing that for another year. And especially if the new boss was a huge supporter of me, and greatly respected my work. If I thought the new boss was a dick though, then that would change things.

Looks like we are going to be turrible for a couple of years. I don't see how we can even be decent for at least 2 years.

you trying to say Rick and his program were a complete joke? If so, that's dumb. Look I said two season ago that stans was obviously burned out and it wouldn't be bad to explore other options, but suggesting his time here was a complete joke is stupid. If you wanna see "complete joke" check out the next 10 years.

in my scenario you viewed your boss as a friend and mentor. In yours, he's a complete joke. Well no **** you'd stay on at that point. Hood obviously viewed Stansbury different that Joe Internet Fan did.

And Hood isn't going without. He'll be on scholarship, just can't play a year.

And I know if what I read about the decision made this weekend is true, it wascarefully thought out and what is best for Rodney is what will be done.

I wish him the best and will go back to my decision to not post nearly as often as I once did, thinking it best to read more and post less.

Stay or leave, good luck Rodney.

He had a bad year. I'm sorry, anyone that doesn't love their freshman year, I feel sorry for. There's no reason not to. <div>
</div><div>I can certainly see why this year wasn't what he signed up for. For anybody that's been through the recruiting process, it's a long, hard ordeal. It's a huge decision, and it takes a lot of time to make. You never know if you're right until you're in the situation. I kinda feel like if Rodney had enjoyed this year whatsoever, he would have stayed. Unfortunately he probably joined the team at the worst time in the past 15 or so years... I really couldn't imagine what this year was like to someone on the inside.</div>
