But if he's guaranteed $2 million to play college - I would do it. NFL is not.
Without doing any research at all, I don’t see how they could stop him from walking on at LSU and just taking the NIL money if he really wanted to go to LSU. Maybe there is more to it than that.

Do you declare for the draft by the January 23 cut date or do you forgo and risk not winning the appeal and having to wait an entire year until the next draft after everyone has forgotten about you? I say go now.
I hope that he stays. That way um has to put up the money to keep him because if he leaves, that ruins their narrative which lane severely injured.

If playing college football is now a right, I'm considering suing Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Alabama among others for not recruiting me out of high school. I still have 4 years of initial eligibility plus whatever else we can get approved.
I have 6 years left.

He will likely be back at OM, but almost two dozen NFL teams are desperate for a QB. He will definitely get a shot.

And get drafted in the first three rounds.

I could’ve been the perfect DEI recruit. Short, slow, colonial African, can catch or jump, and not overly intelligent. D1 rosters are completely underrepresented by people of my genetic makeup. I demand equity.
I can claim elderly discrimination. I'm pretty intelligent though - otherwise, never would have getting into State.

Well one thing is for sure and that is that everyone that passed on him for 3 years made the right decision and evaluators never make mistakes.

I never said any of that. He’s a very, very average P4 QB in a system that doesn’t raise any QB’s ceiling the way that Kiffin’s does. That’s not a knock on the guy, he’s a very intelligent and savvy player who makes good decisions with the ball and reads the field quickly. His physical tools are adequate for the level that he’s playing at. And obviously being an average P4 starter is still a huge upgrade over a DII starter.

But the fact is that he was relegated to being a DII starter in the first place because he didn’t have anything close to physical tools sought out by big time college programs, including size, arm strength, release timing, accuracy, mobility, athleticism, etc. Those same tools as minimum barrier of entry are even more exclusive for NFL QB’s.

He will get drafted
Remains to be seen. He’d need an exceptional combine. But Occam’s razor suggests that his draft feedback has NOT been great if he’s already 24 years old and is still seeking out a 6th year of eligibilty.

The courts at some point will realize that they are taking the "college" out of college sports. Unlimited eligibility destroys college sports. Maybe this will be the case that holds the line.

Breaking news: grown *** man told he can’t play with 18 year olds any more. More at 10.

seriously….i don’t blame OM for trying, but he’s a 24 year old grown man. What the 17 are we even talking about? Go play NFL football dude.
I don't think it's him wanting this so much as his 'handlers'...

He played better than Beck last night
How can you say that? They both had the same number of completions and number of passes. I remember one that Beck threw that should have been intercepted and the intercepted one that was batted. Chambliss threw 5 that should have been intercepted.

I think that Tom Mars just gets off by 17ing with the NCAA. He may be taking this case pro bono.
And it will be heard in Mississippi where there will be no bias. *** I bet they win and he will be back this year. I wonder how many ex players will be back trying to play.

I question why he would want to come back. I can’t imagine his draft stock could be much higher than what it is now.
Unless…..he knows he can’t replicate in the pros what he has been doing in college.

Guessing, allegedly, they knew this prior to the game yesterday. However, the appeal will not be in time for the transfer portal closing. Just a wild guess.

It’s headed south regardless….with or without Chambliss. He’s a very average QB when he’s not in the offensive system run by the most innovative and efficient playcaller in the past 20-30 years in college football.

Kiffin is gone and Weis Jr. is gone. His stock is as high as it ever will be right now.
That SOB wasn’t average against Georgia!

But it’s possible they can’t repeat that without weis

But Chamblis is the absolute only reason they won that game.

That's short term thinking and there's nothing wrong with that.

If he's first or second rounder, $2mil/year may be more than his yearly salary in the NFL, but it's all about getting through the first contract and getting that second contract. He's going to put a lot of wear and tear on his body in 2026 (I'm sure OM will lean on him heavily) and that's one year he won't make on his second contract. RB's have very short careers in the NFL.

It's a gamble either way.

Chamblis can stay another year in college as QBs have long NFL careers.

Georgia just didn’t show up for that game. At all.

We can only hope that they get an temporary injunction to play & the NCAA treats them like they did MSU for playing Larry Gillard with an injunction.
