Geez Wiz, do you really think the NCHSAA should make sure these games are live-streamed into every home in the state? This is high school football, not college or the NFL. Give 'em some credit; they do a pretty good job of having 8 championship games at three P5 college stadiums; great experience for the fans, players and coaches.

TWC has to cover their expenses. Maybe they could set up some pay-per-view for non-subscribers. One reason (maybe the only one) to have cable instead of Direct TV.

I am sure M.D. Guthrie, Wallace-Rose Hill principal and former Union Pines head football coach is proud of those W-RH Bulldogs.

Look why would I attend something like that. I may have a interest in watching something on TV that I'm not a fan of but wouldn't go to the game. There are dozens of reasons . Why they putting it on TV? It's not fan interest it's $$$$$ Then why would anyone watch it to tv? I mean Time Warner. Marty, Time Warner has provided it for the last 3 years to everyone online. Why the change now? I know the reason why$$$$$$$ and the association is in bed with it. You don't change up things like that. Most places in eastern rural North Carolina has no Time Warner available so it's not anything we can purchase. Marty I don't think they do a good job with it. They're a money hungry private entity that's grabbing all the can. Investigate like the N&O did a few years where the endowment funds go. I don't mean a small portion, where is every penny? Good luck on finding that out . One reason why some programs were not real high on the idea of playing endowment games because they were originally voluntary and then the went to strong arm tactics. But that's a dead topic that's still wrong. Now no avenue for non Time Warner subscribers to see the games. It's wrong just plain wrong and they know it's wrong but changed it anyway. Screw them both

Several WNC fans are upset at this as well. They have no access to Time Warner in WNC.
Deana, it's wrong and they know it's wrong. I doubt many rural WNC communities have TWC access either.
Marty, they've done it for the past 3 years why the change?
TGT- cable? 9oh folks have cable, it's just not the exclusive Time Warner
Deana. some people in high places going to hear about this a determine the real motive!

Surely he should be proud. I'm proud of them. Our DarkHorses are the only team to beat them! I like to sea our area teams do well too!

You are threatening to never attend a title game because you are unable to watch for free something that you did not attend. Come on Wiz.
btangio why should I attend? Why would anyone watching on Time Warner attend? They have a choice either watch or attend. Those of us with no Time Warners have only the attend choice.

btango in this particular game why should I attend? I don't support either school. Our high school was the only team to defeat WRH and honestly who in their playoffs had a chance in defeating them. On Steaming different, there may have been enough interest to check in. I'm sure those West Montgomery folks or WRH folks who have no TW available and couldn't get to the game FOR WHATEVER REASON would have liked to watch every dadgum min.of it!

beamer24, I too have no problem paying for it but make it available and since they're making money (and they are) on our public schools where's the money going?

I understand Beamer24 but at least TW is available in Forsyth County isn't it? Sorry about the sick kid
Direct and Dish are better than TW in my opinion from what I've heard

I see both sides of this issue, but to be fair NCHSAA could focus on making money off the ad revenue instead of charging a fee to watch. There are alumni all over the world who do not have subscriptions and can not come to view the games. The regular season streams play ads all the time and those who want to watch don't pay a fee. I would put up with ads to watch.

At minimum just charge a small itunes/netflix type fee instead of forcing people to subscribe.

If everyone doesn't have access then no one should make money off the games, period!

"You are threatening to never attend a title game because you are unable to watch for free something that you did not attend. Come on Wiz." It is hardly "free" every single broadcast is LOADED with ads, At any rate, here is the lowdown I got from Charter last night after spending about 40 minutes on the phone with them. After all I pay those crooks 200+ per month for every single channel they offer plus internet. At MY insistence, they did some looking into the problem. I was suspicious of the NCHSAA who might have had their hands in this problem, but as it turns out, it is simply a merger issue. Charter/TWC as I was told, are merging. It is not or ever seamless, and this was one of the holes in that merger. Emails and other things have not transferred, leaving us in WNC no way to access this content. Worse yet, the radio stations, one in SHELBY in particular, are now using a streaming service that will shut down at random times with 3 minute ads you cant skip during the actuall game action, THis I find even more unacceptable. So I went to the Jacksonville NC radio station with no such ads.

Don't wipe the association clean if this. They're knee deep in it. They have to improve and endorse it because it's their product. It stinks. Merry Christmas TWC/NCHSAA!

The NCHSAA aint in the tv radio business. If they allowed the broadcast LAST year that ought to be clear that they arent at fault here.

I don't know what the deal is.

Time Warner Cable is the rights holder for all live video broadcasts and webcasts of NCHSAA Championship and Playoff events. The production of live video depicting game action, or accounts of the game from the site including live video is strictly prohibited. This includes social media such as Periscope, Facebook Live, Ustream and other streaming services or applications not listed above.

It is permissible to do a live video, Facebook Live, periscope or Ustream chat prior to the beginning of the contest and after the conclusion of the contest from the site.

Didn't get to watch any of the games. Oh well. Yawn. Still not a TWC subscriber. Twitter, NCpreps, and available radio. If I had a team I needed to see, I would have been there. I was a TWC subscriber years ago, but won't ever go back.

As if TWC can police everybody's phones and tablets. I wish everyone that attends the games were would stream from various media like their phones...have TWC lose more money trying to police everyone than they earn. Then see what happens.

Deana, the association owns the product, being the games. The association sell rights to the media - Time Warner, don't make any mistake about that. You know that. They have to endorse the process to anyone they sell rights to, They're b.s ing you Deana. They'll get a chance to explain themselves for this. They changed the process for $$$$$$
