Chandler Parsons in the NBA

The guy is 6'10, averages 11.5ppg, 8rpg, and 3.5apg.
He shoots 50% overall and 38% from deep.

He rebounds great, can shoot on the perimeter, mix it up in the paint, initiate the offense, handle the ball confidently, and has solid athleticism. Nell, he can even guard SGs on the other team when needed so there has to be some lateral quickness there too.
Oh, and he was the conference POY.

So what is missing here? I know the NBA covets potential, but that gets clearly mixed results. Parsons has size, skills, and vision/ball IQ.
Yet he remains largely not talked about for the NBA and isn't even on some mock boards.

Odd. It seems like he has the tools to have a career in the NBA.

Morrison was a scorer and that was it. Parsons has a diverse skillet and doesn't score at a high rate.
Parsons rebounds a ton better, handles the ball better, gets more assists and runs the offense, etc.

Their defensive abilities aren't even close, at least at the college level.

I guess the biggest difference, sticking with the topic, is Morrison at this time of year was predicted to be one of the top draft picks.

</div><div>You can hide your faults in college because the talent is so diluted. You cannot hide them in the NBA. Just look at previous player of the year winners (players that dominated SEC basketball) some of whom are just role players, at best, in the league.</div><div>

Even with the concerns about his athletica ability, the thought was that at worst, his shooting was good enough that he would be a good player.

It's not clear what Parson's would do in the NBA. In college, his size and athleticism allow him to do a little bit of everything while not being great at any one thing. I haven't watched him enough toknow, but it seemsthere's a decent chance that in the NBA, he will simply beaverage orslightly below average tomarginal at a lot of things, which doesn't really do much for most teams. </p>
