What will that matter if he is averaging 18? If they keep allowing Pros in there will be a lot of 25 year olds. Lame point

The point is that he's not some high school kid who's going to grow by leaps and bounds next year. He's already older than most seniors. His game is what it is. He has no handle and is a non-factor against athletic teams with a pulse.

The guy was third on our team in minutes and averaged over 9 points a game. If he's our starting two guard next year that screams down 12 to Mizzou at halftime on a Tuesday night.

Seeing things positively is a self manifestation thing at times. Constantly thinking doom and gloom can't be healthy.
I have been posting here since 2011. I have been one of the most balanced realistic fans on here. Its realistic. There is no evidence of optimism of year 3 from Pope. Its simply blind toxic positivity. I wanted Pope to improve in year 2 but he massively regressed. Consistently having toxic positivity and ignoring the issues in the room doesn't make the issues go away.

Chandler isnt a starting SG on a FF type team unless your PG and another player can draw the D off him . Absolutely doesnt drive and finish with any consistency , yes a highlight dunk on occasion, but thats it .... does not create his own shot at all. actually struggles to get his shot off . We can do better . Or we better do better , IMO

That's your opinion. Firing all of your staff is an indicator that it wasn't just Pope, he's looking to improve things. We just got a commitment from a PG that's pretty decent. You're literally trying NOT to find anything positive, and that my friend is toxic.

I would like for Chandler to be back. He help us win a lot of games last season,if he improves his handle, gets stronger, and improves on defense he could be an all SEC type player next season.

Candler has all the athleticism in the world... He can shoot.... Effort is there... He could spend the whole off season getting his handles better..... That is something he can work on... And can improve.... And if used like Jackson or Brea was in year 1..... Could be devastating. He has that potential... He was asked to do more than his skill set allowed.... Not only that.l, he would be key in helping next year players adapt to pope's system and stuff.... No way in hell you want the guy gone.. People ***** that we had one and. Done... Then ***** we have players with flaws that stay. More than a year.... No point guard.... And no passing big man ruined this years team.... This years chandler would have ate in first years pope's team...

If he goes back to BYU I am going to laugh my *** off at all the people here who wanted him to go that will be crying like babies when he is averaging 18 a game as a SR
He'll never avg 18 unless playing with a dynamic pg. Chandler can not shoot off the dribble and he struggles against pressure. His ball handling would need to vastly improve.

So basically, he may stay or he may decide to go back home. Does being an insider pay well? I think I could do this after I retire for some extra cash.
I was thinking the same thing. The responses to him should be something like this "Way to go out on a limb Captain Obvious."

I hear Pluto's voice when reading it. "Garsh, it could go this way or that way"

Folks… time to wake up and realize that Mark Pope is a dead man walking. It’s inevitable. The assistants knew it. The players know it. I wouldn’t be shocked if we only return two or three guys. THE only reason why we’re still discussing this is because our AD is retiring in two months, doesn’t care, and is a moron. We’re not gonna have a good team next year. I will guarantee hands down we don’t make the NCAA tournament.

Kentucky basketball will be laid desolate for the next 365 days and there ain’t a damn thing any of us can do about it.
Well said.

I agree he could really break out soon. I’d hate to lose him.
I dont understand why he hasn't developed his game further offensively. Right now its a 3 or break away dunk. Not beating a dead horse on our coaching but a opportunity missed on enhancing his game.

He's a good free throw shooter but he never drives to the basket fully and always stops in the paint? Man learn a floater or mid range jumper.

BYU will pay more than Kentucky should for Chandler.
This is the rub...it isn't about a player is good vs. bad. It is about what he's willing to accept NIL-wise vs. what your budget for NIL is.

If UK is committed to paying 3 huge NIL players (PG, SG and C...Moreno)....then what is left of Chandler/Kam? I will agree Chandler is not a guy I want to pay top 3 NIL.

But a 41% 3pt sniper (I'd argue he was a top 3pt specialist in SEC last year), 83%FT, a very good athlete and capable defender. His main limitation is poor handles.

It's hard to get a read off Chandler or any other player because the staff has done such a horrific job at player development. Now where the buck ultimately stops is still yet unknown but it will become crystal clear this year. Anyone of these players could do really well on another team, I bet Jasper will be a popular topic next season. Wherever he ends up, pretty sure it won't be Kentucky

I don’t understand CC ‘s dilemma. At UK he gets preferencial treatment which he would not get at BYU. Pope pushed him and trusts him and that showed in his progress.

I hope he is the leader in his household and not his wife.

if he wants to play in nba , he will only do it from UK. If he is smart young man, which he give me the impression he is, he should not even have one single doubt in his mind.

Chandler is extremely replaceable. We shouldn't be in this state where we worry about collin chandler leaving. Get some studs

Losing him would be a major hit IMO. I could easily see him being a 15+ppg guy next year.

Some only seem to remember the last 6 games or so when he wasn’t playing as well but he had several games where he carried us to a win. Pope hasn’t showed he can go get truly elite talent so the odd that he could get someone better are slim. Besides, we need some top level guards ON TOP of keeping Chandler.

He can absolutely drive with enough spacing too. Has a few of our best dunks in years.
I’m not sure about that. He’s an explosive leaper if he can get to the basket in a straight line, but he doesn’t seem to have the shiftiness or handle to create something in the lane in the half court.

That being said, some people here are too far down on him. Anyone who can shoot 46% from 3 on 5 attempts per game during SEC play is definitely not a scrub who should go play for a mid major. He’s definitely someone I’d like to have back because it’s not likely we’re going to find a better shooter out of the portal.
