worst nightmare right now. His voice reaches so many people on so many outlets that it is very hard for someone to not hear what he has to say. This is a PR nightmare for Auburn to have one of their most beloved and famous alumni bash and critisize his own school. Auburn is so 17ed right now</p>

for these jobs from the talking heads on ESPN reeks of ********. The schools have the right to set valid criteria for a coach, and the right to interpret who is right for them. What makes Barkley a legitimate critic...he's nothing but a loud mouth who happened to play a little basketball at one time.

worst winning percentage? Looking for the coach with the longer losing streak? Coach the fanbase already hates for quitting on them a few years ago?

I don't know if there are any valid criteria to put chizik ahead of Gill.

I am to the right of Attila the Hun. However, I think there are some racial observations to be made here:
1. They made a ****** hire. When you make a white ****** hire, you are setting yourself up for comparison to every decent African American decent hire that could have been made. And that's fair.
2. There is an issue with African American head coaches in the NCAA. I don't know what the reason is. The reason might piss the general population off more than the actual low percentage of head coaches. But, African American coaches are under-represented. No doubt about that. I am willing to accept the possibility, among others, that racism is a problem. I am also probably willing to accept other possibilities that might piss other people off.
3. How do you know Auburn didn't hire him because they thought they couldn't win with him? I say they were stupid in firing Ears. What's to one stupid *** move wasn't followed by about 3 or 4 others. Saban is driving them crazy -- crazy beyond rational thought. So, they hired a loser. Chalk it up to stupid. Chalk it up to racism. Same damned thing.

He's never been more than a position coach at any level above the MAC and he hasn't proven his 1 successful season there was more than a fluke. He had a lot of OT wins that could have easily gone the wrong way. Look no further than Sly Crxxm for a perfect example of an 8-win coach who really was just a ****** coach who lucked out for one season. Chizik has many years as an extremely successful defensive coordinator a the top levels of college football. And with him only being at Iowa St. for 2 years, it's kind of hard to pin all the blame on him for their record. If the previous coach hadn't run the program into the ground, the job wouldn't have been open 2 years ago. Hell, Jackie Sherrill was only 3-8 at Washington St. for crying out loud and he turned out to be a pretty decent coach.

I'm not saying I'm totally buying that argument, but it's far from a foregone conclusion that Gill is a better coach than Chizik is.
