They are losing today at OK. State. How long does Strong last? Is he done after this season so Texas can grab Herman?

Yeah, I think Strong is done after this year. Texas donors never really liked the guy to start with and his early win against Notre Dame doesn't look all that impressive now.

Strong is the Tubby Smith of football. Boring style of play. Solid coach and alright recruiter - perfect if your goal is 8 wins a year and a bowl game while challenging for something more maybe once every 4 years. Bridgewater was the reason why he did so well at Louisville, he got out when his name was hottest but he never was the kind of guy to turn Texas around

His offense was boring. If Petrino had Bridgewater he may have led the nation in passing.

Strong once again proving he is joke as a head coach without "Show cause" Hurt cheating to bring in players for him. He is finished at Texas.
Strong has coached higher rated talent at Texas than he or Hurtt every did at U of L. It takes more than having talent.

Strong was only about the fourth or fifth choice on the Longhorns list when the job came open. Without "your cheatin' Hurtt" by his side, his recruiting has only been so-so.

Maybe what Strong is missing is Hurtt not coaching his DLine like he did at U of L, not his recruiting.

Fans will wring their hands, then they'll beat a middling team they probably shouldn't, carry strong off the field and he's gold for another 6 games. Rinse, repeat.

I will spell it out for you. Easy schedule means easy wins. Is further explanation needed?
Schedule is not the criteria when looking for a good coach. If that was the case,Urban Meyer would still be at Utah, Tressel at Youngstown state and Gus Malzahn at Tulsa. No one would confuse these schools with those that played tough schedules. Yet these coaches still won against tougher schedules.
