Each of our communities should, and do, support them.
This coming Friday night, according to the forecast, it is going to be really cold again.
One team will win, and one will lose.
I just hope the long drive home for our disappointed visitors is a safe one.

As one of those “posters from schools that didn’t make it this far” I want to say thank you. I, probably, will be in a tree before sun goes down that day so would be a rush to make it in time.

Folks making too much of this game. Sure Corvian is better than what a lot of people thought but after rewatching the ER game last week - ER fumbled 3 times, sure turnovers are apart of the game but they looked self inflicted to me… don’t expect MA to turn the ball over like that. I think MA will roll in this one. The big battle will come the following week against one of the mountain teams.

Tyler Mason ran it twice last night for Virginia tech. Wes Durham was telling his partner if you are ever in Mt Airy try the pork chop sandwich at snappy lunch. As long as I've lived in the area never been there. Thought it was pretty cool living in Georgia he has been several times.

I might be wrong but if I was a Mount Airy fan I would not over look this team they only gave up 14 points to Eastern Randolph also they climbed to 2nd in Maxx Preps overall 1a State Ranking with Mountain Heritage #1 and Mount Airy #3

I hope you are right about a power run team because if they are it will be a very long night with probably one of the best defensive tackles/nose guard and one of the toughest most physical middle linebackers they have seen. We love for people to try to run it down our throats. We don’t overlook anyone we line up and play whoever is next and don’t look ahead so we will be ready come Friday.

We also don’t care about any max prep rankings. We have a 43 game win streak and play the toughest rpi and they still disrespect us and tarboro being a #4. Both of us should be 1 & 2, but we both know it. We let the other get a little confidence when they see it and then everyone will see when it is there time to prove it. Corvian up next to get to prove it

Corvian has thrown for over 1,400 yards on the year. So they can throw it if need be. That's at least what the stats on MaxPreps say. I do think MA should win this one though.

Gomer Prlyles alway puts fans down or corrects them on what they mean and their grammar. If you have the worst team in NW, North Carolina you have to be negative towards your conference or others. Merry Christmas Prlyles.

I have been watching a few games of Corvian” s and they are solid and look to be well coached. I don’t see them being able to run with a lot of success on the Bears. However, their option seems to work fairly well for them. They have a good kicker so the Bears may start from the 20 when receiving the ball. I think the Bears need to execute their blocking schemes effectively and they will have success on offense. If the Bears must pass the ball, Corvian has good closing speed on the ball, so passes need to be crisps while leading the receiver when possible.
On defense, the Bears normally do well, so I would think they just need to take on Corvian's lead blocker with intensity and not let their backs keep following their blocks on the run. The Bears need to be weary of bootlegs and misdirection plays and the occasional pass. It does look like Corvian has had a lot of help from turnovers from the other teams in the games I have seen them play. I agree that if the Bears play championship mentality football, they win this one.

Corvian Qb is going to Hampton next year. Cam Johnson #10 is a quick back and Noah best can fly and you dont kick off to him. I seen ER had 4 turnovers in the 1st half including a pick 6 and fumble on Corvian 21. Neithe team scored in the 4th and was 13-6 at the half.

When it was split into 1a-1aa MA was one of the smaller fish in the pond along with Murphy and Mitchell along with others. Exactly….except. They’ll no longer be playing schools half their size! Big difference! I said it before and I’ll say it again, give robbinsville 650 kids or Murphy and you can flip those wins…bank on it!
